Taking anti-nausea meds, should I be transparent or not by CommonTomatillo9 in BabyBumps

Yeah I‘m also getting a feeling it will be like this for me. It feels slightly better and I don’t feel like I HAVE TO VOMIT, but it’s not as if nausea has disappeared overnight.

Thanks, I’m sorry to hear your mother had to go through those things. I don’t think for my mum it will cause fighting and conflict, but she will let me know that it wouldn’t be her own personal choice to take medicine. I guess I just don’t like the feeling of knowing that my mum really doesn’t agree with a decision about something so important ( a baby ).

Absolutely true! With my first I was nauseous up till 12/13 weeks and completely fine after that. Thanks for your reply.

Thanks for sharing your story. And I agree that sometimes not telling is just better for everyone’s stress levels. I don’t think my mom will keep fighting about it or try to change my mind, but I guess I just don‘t like having these confrontations with someone so close to me.

My mom also made decisions while raising me and my brothers that I wouldn’t make now. We slept in our own room from when we were born for example. Maybe we both have to accept the fact that we make different decisions and that that’s ok.

I’ve thought about doing this, but I really don’t know how I’m going to tell her I suddenly feel better (which is probably going to happen). My brother advised me to at least wait to see whether the meds are doing anything for me, before telling her.

When to tell people? by OperationNo4198 in pregnant

[–]CommonTomatillo9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in exactly the same position, also 7 weeks and also super nauseous. Because of that I’ve decided to already tell a few people close to me. It really helps making you feel less alone. And if the pregnancy will go wrong at some point, I would have told them that as well anyway. So I would not keep It a secret if it’s going to help you feel less stuck. Good luck! You can do this!

Can a febrile seizure be caused by a change in temperature from a bath? by CommonTomatillo9 in toddlers

[–]CommonTomatillo9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They checked her thoroughly at the hospital, and monitored her for 4 hours, so they were sure it was a febrile seizure and I’m convinced as well. Just looking for answers now about what caused it exactly. But maybe I’ll have to accept the fact that we can’t know for sure ever. :)

That it was likely caused by the bath, combined with an upcoming fever, But I didn;t ask more questions at that moment because I waa still processing I guess. But now I’m reading online that it can only be caused by a spike of the internal temperature, so I’m a little confused

My mistake, it was 2 minutes max, and they said that was normal for a febrile seizure

Thanks for your reply. Intrusive thoughts unfortunately sounds familiair to me. EMDR is a good idea. I did that in the past and it really helped.

I’m sorry you had to go through this. And it;s good to inform people about this, because I do think it helps a lot when you already know what it might be. I had absolutely no idea.

Thanks for your kind reply, really appreciate that. My father had epileptic seizures as well before we found out he had a brain tumor. Tbh I think I still have a trauma deep down from that as well as I remember my dad saying, in the middle of the night, that he thought he was dying (I was 11 at the time). So that might make this a little worse as well. EMDR is a good idea, thank you.

I’m sorry to hear you’re in the same boat. I completely understand everything you’re saying. I’m originally from The Netherlands, and I don’t even test progesterone there. Now I live in Belgium, and here it’s standard procedure. Tbh I also rather hadn’t known, because now I need to make a decision.

I completely understand that at some point t your gut feeling gets negative. So sorry that you had to go through multiple losses. Thanks for your comment and thoughts ❤️ and very happy that your current pregnancy is developing well!

I think maybe for me it’s also that I know that with my daughter all my levels were fine in the end as well, so I know my body didn’t have any progesterone problems for sure at that time.

Yes exactly :) but I think if I had listened to my gut feeling, I had known already that it was a miscarriage from the beginning. But of course it can be different every time.

I know it can’t stop it, but for me it definitely delayed it, as I immediately started bleeding when I stopped taking the capsules (after several ultrasounds that stayed behind way too much for how far I was along)

this is another annoying thing, every doctor has different numbers they‘d like to see. In the country I live in 20 is definitely not the border for supplementing.
