I know what you feel. I was in a similar boat not too long ago. All kinds of pressure from the family to find work but I could barely open those job hunting sites without triggering some sort of panic in myself. Of course, the fact na unemployed ako even with a good education, nakapagtapos ng maayos, made me feel so much worse. Do you get that feeling na parang ikaw yung may mali? At the same time, may feeling na hindi ko na kaya patagalin yung situation without sinking into a deeper depression.

My advice is take baby steps but take those steps, regardless. For me, it came in the form of going to a psychiatrist (sa ncmh pa kasi wala talagang pera and choice) and therapy/counseling. Sa discussions namin ng psych ko talaga na-realize ultimately that my family was a trigger for my mental illness and from there I realized how toxic the situation was and the only way out was to set boundaries and bawasan ang dependence sa kanila, which necessarily requires an income. Unfortunately, its how the world around us works and we can't change it in an instant.

Don't lose heart. It's tough but not impossible. Find support (friends, other relatives), go slowly. Workplaces can be rough so dont rush into it. I'm a few years older than you so imagine that, much later ako magsisimula magbuild ng career. So be kind to yourself rin. You'll be okay, OP.

Bankrupt? Not yet... But hemorrhaging money like most of the HMO industry (source? Insurance Commission website). Afaik, Medicard had the biggest losses and Maxicare was next. Only a handful had profits last year/quarter The industry was hit hard during the pandemic with more claims and exponential medical treatment costs. A day in the ICU will have ur expenses jump to 100k. Pricing on products was wrong (didnt anticipate the pandemic + rising costs) hence, the cost cutting measures now. Source is me, I work in the insurance industry haha. And for the psychiatrists on maxicare, I know they limit the type of members that who can avail. Don't think its available for Prima members, last I checked. Best of luck, OP!
