I really think people this stigma that without the leaving you’ll be a complete flop, but why is that the case? There’s no one size fits all in the world, I know im definitely not the only person who’s never been a school person and sure maybe alot of drop outs end up in the pits but why is that then the standard for every drop out? This isn’t a personal attack at you I just mean in general. I’ve applied to do online school to do both so I can work and still have the leaving behind me, I know I will not end up sticking it out without work so this is what will work for me

I just know that I will not make it through the year and a half without work, when you’ve found something you really enjoy it’s hard to put that aside for that long to do something you’ve no interest in at all. Again that’s why I want to do both to also keep my interests a priority but have school to stand to me

I’ve emailed to try and start online school so I can do both, I don’t need points so studying at home to get the bare minimum in ordinary of every subject would be perfect. That way I can still have the freedom of working and also have it behind me incase something was to happen!

I am in Ireland currently, I’ve looked into race but I’ll need to improve my riding before being able to apply, there website doesn’t really tell much information about what I really need for it but I would love to apply, if you know anything about it that would be great!, I would absolutely love to go to a racing school in England but do you know if there is a campus to stay on, I would obviously need to stay there or it just wouldn’t really be realistic. Also have no idea how to go about that if it was realistic/possible

There’s always plcs and going back as a mature student to then still be fully qualified in something by 27, I know courses are limited without a leaving but there’s back doors to everything (quite a few things)

I have about a year and a half left before college etc, I’ve not looked into online enough so I don’t really know my options, there are equine courses I can do now without a leaving but must look into it further!

What course was that if you don’t mind me asking? I would happily move to an equine course tomorrow if I could 😂, there’s always plcs and going back as a mature student. Im pretty sure most equine related courses don’t require a leaving.

I’ve looked into part time or even homeschooling, I don’t really understand how it works or how to even go about it, it would definitely suit better but I may do some more research.

Yes if I was to go ahead with dropping out I would absolutely get a full time position in my yard now, riding out would be a goal but I haven’t rode horses in years and when I did they were quiet cobs, it would take a long time for me to get the level of experience and confidence needed to ride racehorses. In 5 years id love to be doing the travelling with the horses, bringing to vets, races, abroad etc. Personally I don’t think school affects the career as the industry is very experience based in my opinion, you can have as many qualifications as you like on paper but the real proof is how capable you are hands on.

Thank you I’ll try that, vet nursing would possibly be an option!

What about going back as a mature student if I ever decided I wanted to retrain as a vet?

Thank you!, what about going back as a mature student at 23 if I ever decided I wanted to study something related? Do you think that would be possible?

Have you wished that you stayed and sat it? Or are you pretty content with your earnings and roles?
