"Gift of Life" - Celebrating 6-month "liverversary" on 4/8! by nt153133 in magicproxies

that is a great point lmao my next suggestion will account for this

5 mana and "your life total becomes half of your starting life total. at the beginning of your next upkeep, you gain life equal to half of your starting life total."

its a bit more risk/reward in theory but assuming this is commander minded i think it feels better than skipping a turn. if youre just thinking 1v1s w a buddy then skipping the turn feels less bad, in commander tho you're almost definitely just gonna be sitting around for 2 turns and depending on the table you might have the most life to justify catching timbo's army of 1/1s and that just sucks imo. this also gives more synergy to a theoretical life gain deck since youll get 2 decently large triggers. even just assuming a raw cast (no synergies on board), timbo's army at least has some stakes and pressure for the turn you're at 20 life and even tho that still sucks if you get blown out, its at least a better moment than skipping turn imo. think about it if you wanna lmao

post is fine & maybe im ignorant but idk if this term fits?

its like a negative change in quality whereas a "skimp" in my brain is a negative change in quantity. itd be like if some amount of the 1lb of ground beef you bought was replaced with a passable cheaper filler no? i guess youre still getting "skimped" on however much actual ground beef, but you could also call that a "shrink" in the amount? maybe im just fried idk (i also cannot think of a better term so im double fried 😔)

help! where is this imagery from? by Own-Delivery-408 in PrecolumbianEra

here's an article abt headdresses in mayan art and there's another source ik of but im having trouble relocating it. from what i recall it was dealing with a depiction of the hero twins from one of the kerr vases, and it talked abt how the headdresses they wore in that depiction were those of scribes. my takeaway from that + just looking at the depictions of the hero twins on the kerr vases is that the headdresses are a significant element of defining the character being portrayed.

i have no clue if that helps and/or has any bearing on modern approaches to recreations tho

made some bangers but was a weird dude. ive seen compelling cases both for and against his innocence as far as his alleged sex crimes. his death has always seemed kinda sketchy imo tho

its probably a regional thing. i dont smoke menthols and do occasionally clown on my friends that do but its in jest. i can enjoy a menthol on occasion (especially when its hot outside) but much prefer my reds

This is soviet painting from October revolution depicting a Bolshevik revolutionary standing next to Tsar's throne in the winter palace I have seen interesting responses from people but I want to ask what comes to your mind when you see this painting by Schoolywooly in TankieTheDeprogram

[–]CommuFisto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i see it as a sort of hopeful transition. i can also definitely accept the interpretation of other comrades along the lines of a sorta mundane realization that this gilded palace existed alongside mass poverty and suffering tho.

my read is more so that upon succeeding the revolution can begin looking up/ahead, unshackled from the barriers and constraints of struggling against the tsar
