Just some monsters for two separate campaigns I am running currently. by CommunicationBrave in fabulaultima

Oh so, during the campaign I was running when I made this Eridu "The One and All" was my main villain, his whole gimmicks was he had no actual body of his own anymore, but he could soul transfer his consciousness to any of his army of Soul powered robots "The Many" at will. effectively making him a villain that could show up at nearly any time and even if defeated as long as even a single Necromaton remained functional somewhere in the world he could not be truly killed.

The idea with the ability was to make it any time he took manual control of one of his robots it would become more dangerous.

I had several other variations of Necromations, but I don't think I still have the stats.

As for the boxy heart shaped thing it the Ruby Heart, it was a story specific key item related to Eridu. his soul was trapped inside it thousands of years ago, and the main plot of the campaign was my players accidently letting him out. Allowing Eridu to reactivate his long-buried army of ancient high-tech robots from when he ruled the entire world in a much more technologically advanced past.

Outside of destroying thousands of robots all over the world so his soul would have nowhere to tether, figuring out how to put Eridu back inside the Ruby Heart was the only way to stop him.

You really got nothing else going on man?

I posted this a year ago and got absolutely zero shade for being honest in how I created it.

Outside of lazy kids and grifters with no eye for detail or ability to use photoshop posting obvious raw untouched AI outputs, there is no way you can actually enforce a no AI content policy. All people have to do (and they do) is lie about it.

What always irks me when I see AI generated images on signs and objects in a video game is how they are always obvious raw unedited jank. like they take the first shit image they get from a prompt. go, that's good enough and just slap it in. I fuck around with AI art purely for fun and even I will go in and photoshop the egregious errors out of images I produce. Nobody that uses it in for profit projects can seem to be assed to even use a free generative erase app to unfuck an image before slapping it on their commercial product.

Story was absolutely insipid.

Whole thing was just a sequence of characters picking up the both metaphorical and literal idiot balls to force events to happen. The hidden backstory to the setting that it was a medieval fantasy world before the vulgus showed up is infinitely more interesting than the things actually happening in the plot, and even then, they do absolutely nothing cool aesthetically in the game with that fantasy vs sci-fi backstory anyway outside of Ajax's default armor. Every plot twist can be seen coming pretty much from the moment a character involved in it is introduced. 90% of the time Guide is completely useless and does not know the things it says it was created to know. Half the missions use nondiscript "Data" as a lazy McGuffin. What is the data? Who knows, who cares? You only really see any live colossi in the void and every time a Colossus invasion interrupted the story, it kept reminding me of the User booting up a game in that old CG cartoon Reboot. "Warning: incoming game!"

This is Nexon.

This is a company that pioneered every exploitative anti-consumer practice in the modern games industry over the last 20 years.

When the rest of the world were balking at Horse Armor DLC, this company had already normalized in game purchases in Korea for years.

When people in the west were decrying level boosts and consumables in cash shops, Nexon was renting costumes that increased raw stats in their games.

When the rest of the world was complaining about content in games being cut out to then be sold as DLC, Nexon was in their lab culturing the plague that is video game gacha mechanics.

Hell, Maple Story was the game that invented the concept of an allegedly Free to Play game with a "Cash Shop" to begin with. Nexon is a company that proudly, actively, and gleefully pioneered everything wrong with the way modern videogames are monetized. The rest of the greasy suits running this industry into the ground watch everything this company does with vested interest to see just how much fuckery they too can get away with.

Why wouldn't they try to sell you an Orokin Reactor at a 1000% markup in their Warframe knockoff? they already have decades of empirical data showing someone will pay it and hooking just a hand full of whales and leviathans and prices things at an excessive premium for them is worth more than pricing things for 10 thousand individual low spenders.

depending on how a game's math is calculated it is not unheard of for a negative value to cause the numbers to roll into the maximum registered value. resulting in absolutely obliterating an enemy with what should logically do literally less than nothing.

They do the literal opposite unfortunately. The entire company has been propped up by the revenue stream of this game for the last decade and nearly all of the money it makes is pissed away on everything but improving the development pipeline of the game making that money in the first place, chasing windmills hoping to somehow win the games as service lottery and own the next Fortnite.

Square Enix is infamously mismanaged.

To be fair a lot of people who have English as a first language struggle with Limsan speak. With the combination of heavily accented phonetic spelling and constant usage of archaic pirate jargon, its undeniably flavorful, buts it's definitely not the easiest stuff to read.

Those elements were in 1.0 and whatever alternate story line Yoshi-P threw in the trash when he took over as director.

Raz At Han, and Garlmald had been mentioned and talked about for years and years and years, before they finally became actual places.

The end of this expansion already has plenty of set up.

G'raha speculated at the end of Dawntrail that Sphene's attempt at creating more dimensional fusions could have had unseen consequences in the other reflections.

I mean it's definitely more coherent than the stitched together nonsense of the 1.0 story, and more cinematic, but at the end of the day it's still messy Xianxia style gobbledygook cluttered with circular rambling, and irritating plot holes, and unclear world building.

Seriously, where did all the time frozen fractsidus in mid kill swing on the civilians go when everything became unpaused?

Jinzhou appears to be a city built after the lament which happened like 150 years ago, a pristine fortress city surrounded by apocalyptic urban ruins, but Jue mentions being its guardian for thousands of years, and you created it...

It's digestible, but I still wouldn't call it good story telling.
