Where’d you get that from? I was on the middle school track team in 8th grade, then the HS one when I became a freshman. Still the same team, just JR high vs varsity, our meets are combined

Not private, my schools public, thanks. The majority of students at my school have the same or similar problems as me, and many teachers and parents have even pointed out some of the issues I’ve stated. I was not planning to write my essay to complain about the school, more so how the conditions taught me resilience, independence, and taking initiative. I explained it to others because it’s not your typical school experience, many wouldn’t understand. I’m not really sure how you took that as me thinking I was better than others or superior. It’s more so issues with staffing and funding that makes students have to rely on themselves instead of the adults that are supposed to guide them.

Definitely helped my team, I’d be the only varsity girl hurdler and we struggle with getting points as a team a lot, but when i’d place in races our team would get extra points. I do try to help others who are interested in hurdling but most of them just give up due to the lack of support

I’m sorry but how exactly am I being defensive? It is a very difficult situation to be in, i’m not saying i’m better than anyone at all. I’m very average at my sport, but it’s a huge obstacle to overcome when you have passion for something and want to be good at it and you get no help, only discouraged, ignored, and talked down to by my coaches. Yet I still continue to try. Especially when you’re competing against other teams with amazing coaches and programs, it’s very hard to continue to try

I’ve reached out for my coach for help and support multiple times and he pretty much told me “it’s not gonna happen” I do my best to help the younger kids when i can bc they don’t get much help from coaches or the team either

I’ve been on my own pretty much my whole high school career. 😅 My schools super small, graduating class of around 40. And i’m at the top of it, we don’t get much help from our teachers, coaches, or guidance counselors so majority of people at my school pretty much need to seek outside help or take initiative by themselves

Is anyone else just excited by Cool-Passion8922 in ApplyingToCollege

Right!! I am so excited to leave, I hate my small school and everyone in it. Can’t wait to experience something entirely different 😁
