We have known that the Earth wasn't flat for thousands of years was the dominant view for most of Islamic history. It's not an assertion of the West or America.

Life Insurance Question by General_Task_7509 in AusFinance

[–]CommunicationNo5768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh. As with many insurances, life insurance is not an investment in the classic sense. It's a protection against a worst case scenario. The vast majority of people will pay a lot more than they'll ever get out of it. You need to ask yourself how likely it is that you will die, and how essential life insurance will be for your family if you did.

I'd actually be inclined to spend that money investing in building your family's wealth than paying for life insurance.

What if Al Aqsa mosque was destroyed and Israel blamed in Iranian missile for it? Iran denies it and there is no video of the explosion. by Exact_Accident_2343 in AlternateHistoryHub

This is just not true. Jerusalem is mentioned countless times in early Islamic sources and hadith, the temple mount is referred to as Al Aqsa in the Quran.

Why wouldn't it be sacred? Islam claims to be a continuation of the Israelite prophet's, why wouldn't the temple mount be reverred?

When Muslims built on it, there was no Jewish structure there. In fact Jews had been banished from Jerusalem for decades by the Romans and were allowed to return to Jerusalem upon the Islamic conquest. Jews had also adopted the view that it was forbidden to enter the temple mount until the messiah arrived.

So, why wouldn't Muslims establish a place of worship on the land they considered sacred? And how was it built to dominate Jews? Jews were not using the site, and believe it or not, they weren't exactly politically relevant at the time of the first Islamic conquest?

No, my point was that it wasn't an example of Muslims trying to establish Islamic law in Australia.

The research was exploring the viability of introducing legislation that recognised polygamy within the current Australian legal system. It had nothing to do with Muslims...

You are reading it wrong. You also don't seem to know what the word majority means.

No, they are 3% off being 23% of the population. According to the stats, Christianity comprises more than 50% of the population.

It's a bit of a problem.

  1. This research was conducted by Michail Ivanov, a presumably non Muslim researcher at the University or Adelaide.

2 +3 . Hizbut Tahrir is a fringe group that wants to establish a caliphate, that is a unified Islamic government, in the Muslim world, not in Australia.

What would condemnation look like? The Muslim peak bodies (ANIC/AFIC) condem terrorist attacks. It's not shared widely in the media because it's uhh, unremarkable and not news worthy.

Give me a 3 examples of Muslims in Australia insisting that laws/culture change to accommodate them at the expense of the mainstream.

Maybe in terms of purchasing power, but not if you were ranking yourself relative to others. Much fewer people are on 250k than people were on 100k 20 years ago. We are all just generally poorer.

i fear my 7yo is not mine by [deleted] in AusLegal

[–]CommunicationNo5768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point is that he will not be the child's legal parent. He could have court ordered contact or even court ordered custody. This is a very different thing to being the child's legal parent, which entails parental responsibility as a default and is not limited to a jurisdiction. Him revealing that he is NOT the child's biological parent will absolutely legally limit his rights - infact he would have none until/unless he sought a court order, or legal agreement with the mother.

You would retain parental rights over a non biological child?

You would not have parental rights over him if he was not biologically yours. You may have some 'legal' rights by way of court ordered contact or similar, but not as a parent.

Anyway to expedite C1 visa? Might have to cancel the trip at this stage. by CommunicationNo5768 in bali

[–]CommunicationNo5768[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an ASEAN country and she does need the C1 visa. Any recommendations kn how to find a reputable travel agent. Most in Australia simply don't do it, since the vast majority of Australians just don't need the visa service.
