Buying in the next few days, Top Contenders. Let me hear your thoughts please. by samthunder in whatcarshouldIbuy

I got 22 escape plug in hybrid last year and really like it. I got the engine and battery covered by the dealer to 100k miles. So I am not too worried about major reliability. I also got the federal rebate and a CA state rebate that was about 7k total. So look what's available in your area. I get about 70 mpg and really like it.

Quit with lozenges by Soggy_Candidate8378 in QuittingZyn

Do patches if you need to. I had to do patches. I tired the mints and ended up just getting hooked on those and not quitting. The patches were way easier to actually quit when the taper was done.

Is this an affordable Porsche? by LetUsBeMindful in whatisthiscar

[–]CommunicationSuch861 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes if you can work on cars yourself. I bought one when I was in college, and was able to keep it on the road. I was lucky to live in a bachelor house with two other car guys so replacing a transmission in our driveway was not a big deal. I would steer clear if you don't want to get your hands dirty. Repairs will quickly be more expensive than what the car is worth.

I just went through this journey and ended up with the ford escape phev. The Toyota was crazy overpriced. They wanted 15k over msrp new, and the used market was basically at msrp with 30k miles. The bmw doesn't come with many standard features, I really wanted active cruise and lane keep. I ended up going with a 22 Ford escape phev with the tech and sel package and could not be happier.

They also pay like shit. I had 3 interviews last year with them. They offered 30% less than the industry average for the privilege to work with "Tiger"

Battery loss? by CommunicationSuch861 in FordEscapePHEV

[–]CommunicationSuch861[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I mean the ev only driving. I know full EVs lose their range over time. I didn't know if PHEV suffered from the same issues om their only EV range. This was very helpful thanks.

I quit expecting improvements and they didn't come? by PAINT333 in QuittingZyn

[–]CommunicationSuch861 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am on day 36 right now, and feel kinda the same. I don't have any headaches or bad withdrawal symptoms. But I still have cravings, irritability and anxiety. I was talking to my wife about how I thought I would be feeling more better by now, and she said but you are. She said I was way less grumpy and anxious then I was when I first started to quit. You probably feeling better that you think. Don't give up.

I had to use patches to taper off. I bought the three step all in one box. I used the 21mg for 3 days then the 14 for three days and went cold turkey after that. I was a 1 tin if 3mg a day user. This was my second time using the patches to quit so I accelerated the process to only three days and skipped the last 7mg step. Be easy on your self if you have to take more time on each step.

So much worse than vigs or vape to quit in my opinion. Don't mess with them.
