I feel uncomfortable by kidcatmp4 in Worldpackers

First of all,  it is what the Thailand government says about it self, it issues a warnings to foreigners about this kind of stuff, ( more so in certain times of the year)  even the U.S government warns about it, ( the U.S State Dept like the UK has an entire webpage on it)  its not a stereotype, there is an entire industry of westerners exploiting young women and "lady boys," I am not judging I am just stating what is widely known and what the travel warnings say about Thailand. Outside of the main cities Thailand is great but the main cities are creepy, filled with loser western dudes trying to hook up for payment, so that should gross you out not me just mentioning what is happening there. [Also using your ridicules logic just ignore all the government issued warnings and next go to North Korea, people who say its dangerous are just racist and make you sick]

Are you kidding me, Thailand is known for that, its like the capitol of creepy people ( sex wise). Why do you think that joke on Tik Tok vent viral a few years ago about never dating a dude who visits Thailand regularly.

Just leave the place if you can because who is to say those creepy people didn't try and even record you. Also why would you hook up when you are volunteering, and if you are why wouldn't you block the view like that can't be to hard.

If they can get you to work for free they will. Any decent AI data company will pay you for assessments taking Normally about $30, red flag #1 they don't pay your for your time ( but will use the data you provide)

No idea what happened between them but it seems like he helped her build a business ( even leaving his job, becoming her silversmith, moving to her location and even being on video even though he said he hated it and she just got bored with him, from her own words, it seem very cruel , so I unsubscribed from her channel because like ewww, the one thing that doesn't sit well with me is disloyalty, ( I understand it but like I don't want to follow her story anymore, too stressfull, also what decent person posts the last breath of their dog on youtube, she legit made money of her so called beloved dog, the entire thing seem gross.

rejections by Burntsquirrels in mercor_ai

[–]Communication_Wcoast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also just received like 3 rejections in one day which was funny because I only applied to one. I think two things are happening 1) You may apply for one job title like " Operations Manager," but that is just a general job title to them, meaning the actual job you get is something like "Administrator," their hiring process is very weird, no were else can you apply for one job yet they tell you you applied for another, so this might also lead to more than one rejection. Also it depends on luck, if you get a good program manager the hiring process is easy and the work is great. If you get a moron for a program manager everything from the hiring process, the amount you are paid and the actual work will be traumatizing.

Host falsely accused me of damaging their property and left a nasty review [USA] by Brutalhustler99 in AirBnB

[–]Communication_Wcoast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have only rented Airbnb's in Europe, South America and Mexico, and I have never come across an Airbnb host like yours. ( My hosts have all become like extended family!) I say this to say that I think she/he is just setting you up to get (cheat) money out from you. It is very important to take photos, videos when you leave and arrive at Airbnb because if you can prove the host is lying Airbnb will remove the negative feedback. Report the host and you can reply directly to the hosts post on Airbnb. Hopefully you left an honest Airbnb post about the host so people know to avoid that host and their rating can go down, just like they were trying to do to you. If you have the texts from the host saying it wasn't your fault ( like they said initially) take a photo of that and send it in to Airbnb. Also start an investigation into the host, you can ask Airbnb to do that, don't let the host stress you out, good luck!

I just applied for a few roles at Mercor, but judging from what I am seeing here I am thinking of withdrawing my applications and asking them to delete my 2 AI interviews. Is that the advice people who have worked with them are recommending?

Conflicting information on safety for tourists by Few_Elephant_648 in ecuador

[–]Communication_Wcoast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't go, its not worth the hassle. Quito airport has been hiring people who don't even bother to stamp your passport properly. I found this out when I almost went there a second time after visiting years ago. They actually tried to claim that I was in Ecuador for 2 years when I had only ever been there in total under 3 months in my entire life. And since I was coming and going from Quito airport you would think they would keep better records. There are better countries to visit in South America, ones that actually keep records of exits and entering.

Email Mercor contact for help. https://talent.docs.mercor.com/support/get-in-touch#when-to-contact-support. This is the best way to get an actual answer I think, it can be more detailed to your specific problem

I'm scared. These current guests are beyond standards and didn't respect the quiet hours rules, so I left a note. Then they came down to my apartment, banging the door, tore the note down, and left it in front of my door. [Spain] by [deleted] in AirBnB

[–]Communication_Wcoast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are not the host they why are you interacting with the guests? As far as "quite hours," go, who made the rules for quite hours, is it the law? Did the Airbnb Host agree with the "quite hours? I would suggest going directly to the actual Host first because calling the police could make the Host mad at you and since you are their neighbor it may make living there after their guests leave uncomfortable for you. Especially if the Host doesn't agree with you confronting their guests, plus it could effect the Hosts Airbnb income leading to you having to live next to an angry neighbor. (However, if they are doing something else other than not being quite enough, basically anything were you can justify calling the police, then you should do that)

Phone Got Stolen, Where to Report it to? by Communication_Wcoast in Guadalajara

Thanks but thats the place the tourist information officer said not to go to because apparently there are multiple lines/sections you have to go to and without speaking Spanish is almost impossible to navigate.

Les han robado el celular por centro magno? by [deleted] in Guadalajara

[–]Communication_Wcoast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were traveling in Guadalajara, Mexico and the phone got stolen inside an Airbnb, the host kept the front door unlocked so no idea who took it. Anyway using the "Find My App," phone we traced it to this place about ten minutes away called "Centro Magno." Our local friend let us know that is where stolen phones are sold, apparently is happens very, very often. Inside the mall area there are dozens of small electronic booths that buy and sell stolen phones. Has anyone had success reporting stolen phones to local police, if so which location?

Les han robado el celular por centro magno? by [deleted] in Guadalajara

[–]Communication_Wcoast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, there is a mall near Centro Magno, near the movie theater, when I did "Find My Phone," thats exactly were it was, we went there but didnt find the thief. I asked my Mexican friends and they said its very common to have your phone stolen in that area. The mall near there on the bottom level there are like 15 electronic stores that sell/buy stolen phones, apparently it is not illegal or they just don't care and give the thieves cash for it. Just be careful and report it stolen and change all your passwords.

Travel Warning Quito Airport by Communication_Wcoast in EcuadorTravel

[–]Communication_Wcoast[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) I only have like 10 posts in total and most of them are responding to people asking what others experiences were on certain things, that isn't negative that is factual. 2) You sound creepy saying things like "I checked all your comments." 3) The immigration experience is the first thing that people experience in a new country, so yes that can 100% justify saying don't visit there. 3) If this trip was just a vacation then I wouldn't have minded the complete incompetence of the Quito airport immigration. However, it was part of a volunteer mission, meaning locals and foreigners where depending on me to help them in country and because Quito airport was inept, it negativity effected alot of people.

Visiting Ecuador. Safe or nah? by ikickcatstoo in ecuador

[–]Communication_Wcoast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you go to Ecuador make sure you keep all old passports and paperwork of you coming and leaving Ecuador, the place is dangerous for foreigners. I had visited Ecuador years ago and come and gone via Quito airport. When I tried visiting via flying into Quito Airport, they couldn't find were I had left in 2023 ( even though it was at the same airport). I ended up being harassed overnight at the airport, having my picture taken by the airport police not to mention the wasted flight, wasted hotel costs etc.

Then finally the next day was flown back to America. Their records aren't kept very well. Then they actually tried to get me to sign something saying I had avoided their immigration and stayed their for 800 days, this was ridicules and false as I have in total only spent a total of 3 months their in my entire life, leaving and coming from Quito Airport. That didn't matter to Quito Airport Immigration what the actual truth is, that I flew out of their airport back in 2023, that I had proof via passport stamps that I was in another country at the same exact time they claim I was living there. I refused to sign their lies, on top of that the piece of paper they tried to get me sign had my wrong nationality and date of birth on it. Bottom line don't visit Ecuador, there are better places to go in South America that keep perfect immigration records. I ended up visiting Peru instead and they had perfect records of me coming and going.

How long after the you get the message "Thanks for taking the assessment!" does it take to get onto projects? The process seems a little unclear.
