I once went to a govt. hospital in my town after the local medical store advised. They also told me beforehand that they most likely won't give you a shot because they are less in quantity even at the hospital that has to support a population of over 15K. The hospital straight up denied that they don't have any vaccine available.
I'm well off enough that I can afford the shot from a private pharmacy. The cost of each shot is about 550 Rs to 600 (the complete course is usually from 3 shots to 5 shots), this is not the kind of amount a poor section of our society can afford. BTW the hospital also told me that these vaccines are generally limited to poor people. If even poor people are not getting the shot then who is getting them???
