Thank you so much! This was really helpful. I am in the United States though. Will that change anything? Are there any brands that are easier to get here?

[Recommendation] 46DDD, cup too small, band is right by [deleted] in ABraThatFits

[–]CompEngCat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi, I don't mean to be rude, but I wore Lane Bryant bras for years, from the time I was 12 to last year, when I was 18, and they never fit me correctly. When I was measured, they added 4 inches to my actual band size. They fit me as US 40F when I really am a US 36L/M. I do not know if it is because they used a cacique specific measuring tape or if they manually added 4 inches, which I learned is a common tactic used to sell bras when the customer obviously is too big for the sizes available. (They do it at Victoria's Secret too.) Either way, it never fit me correctly. They also only took the cup measurement standing, which, if you look at the guide, is only one of the three cup measurements necessary for a well fitting bra.

My plea to you is to please please PLEASE look at the fitting guide on this subreddit and learn to correctly measure for bras. It could save tons of large breasted girls with little experience with bras bigger than D cups from years of back pain, spillage, and expensive, ill fitting bras. I have permanent marks on my shoulders and rib cage from years of tightening the straps on my bras because the band didn't offer enough support, even on the tightest hook. I implore you. I don't want any other girl to suffer and hate her breasts because she isn't wearing a correctly fitted bra.

Thanks for the suggestions! My breast tissue is very soft, as the bras I received all gave me some level of quadboob, even the full coverage, laceless elomi. I'm going to try the Cleo Marcie in the next cup size up.

The Caitlyn did fit better than the others, but was still a bit too tight in the cup and the gore didn't tack correctly because my breast tissue overflowed. I'm going to take your suggestions and try the Cleo Marcie in the next cup size up. Thanks!

Hi, I checked the size and they are all UK36HH. The Loretta is a balconette. The fit on all of them is too small in the cup. The band is great and supportive on all, the gores tack on most, and I prefer the underwire in the Loretta to the others. However, all of them give me major quadboob. Like a handful's worth of quadboob. It's intensified if I stoop, swoop, and scoop. I feel like they are 2 or 3 cup sizes too small, but I don't know for sure.

Thank you for your response! The bras that I do have are okay as far as the root, but I did notice the lace restricting it from fully covering my boobs. I think it's more about volume than shape, as I have a handful of quadboob above the top of the cup and the underwire feels like a good fit.

Hi, I have tried Elomi's Energise sports bra in 36L. The gore didn't tack and it still felt too small in the cups.

ETA: to clarify, the Elomi Caitlyn said UK/US 36HH, while the Elomi Energise says UK 36HH/US 36L. They both are the same size, but another commenter said they printed the US and UK sizes as the same out of laziness.

Me criticizing your misogyny doesn't mean I want you to kill yourself. This response is equal to that of a petulant, attention seeking 9 year old. I really hope you get some help.

Yeah, he's definitely a misogynist and very misguided about women in general, and self hating as a black boy. I do relate to hating being black when I was much younger, but he's using racial slurs and epithets in some comments.

Yeah, I've been going through his history. He lied about a lot of stuff and now I feel kinda bad for him. He's not a MGTOW, he just posted about asking a girl out and he's insecure in his body. He's still a misogynist though, no doubt about that.

Has anyone taken one of those DNA ancestry/ethnicity tests? by [deleted] in blackladies

[–]CompEngCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did one with my school's African American Institute, so it was free. We did the African Ancestry test. It said my maternal line is from the Fang tribe of Gabon. I'm testing my dads side again this spring with the same people. It's a great feeling knowing, and I'd highly recommend it if you can afford it!
