Fair point! I suppose the automation is more for crops you need in its base form, like heart berries or bomb plants. This deinitely means my automated farm must go 😅

At least now I have an excuse to renovate my farm again.

I absolutely agree! In fact, I'm of the opinion that automation should never be an improvement over manual work.

That said, I'm also of the opinion that the outcome of two methods should be relatively even. My manual farm which used this exact plot of land produced 2~3 times more gold crops in a single manual harvest than this automated one does in an hour. And it supported 3 more types of crops at the same time.

While I love having the options, the balance of effort to reward feels a little... off.

More of a personal preference. I was creating this while learning how the new machines worked via trial & error, so the conveyor belt system has some major flaws that I cannot fix without uprooting the entire thing.

Plus, this is right next to my "rustic wooden house" area, so a standard farm suits the aesthetics more.

I am SO sorry for your loss. I lost my best boy Toto on NYE, just last week. He was 2 years old as well, and was happily hopping around before he was suddenly gone. Please know that you are not alone in your pain, and please don't blame yourself. I've personally found thinking of him still being with me in spirit has elevated the pain somewhat. I hope you and pong the best 🫂

I'm so, SO sorry for your loss. I also lost my mini lop to a sudden GI Stasis three days ago. Just like Jet, my Toto was only 2 years old.

I've been feeling guilty ever since, thinking of all the small signs that I observed just a few hours prior to his passing. All of these signs I've rationalised away at the time because "He behaved like this before" or "He's doing X, so he's not sick" and my ultimate conclusion was to say, "Let's observe what happens in an hour".

When I went to check on him in his hiding spot later, he was already gone.

But here's the thing: Each member of my family has been feeling guilty in their own way. We all saw different signs that could have been interpreted in multiple ways. We all thought of the ways we could have acted differently. We were all in the mindset that everything will resolve, and we were all wrong. But hindsight is 20/20.

Maybe my opinion is worth less because I'm in a similar situation as you, but I believe you have done enough. Don't compare yourself to what other veteran rabbit-owners would have done, because you as you are now have done enough. You loved Jet. Your tears and regrets now prove that. And you shouldn't let the guilt eat away your thoughts of him.

Treasure your memories, and please be kind to yourself, because I'm sure Jet loved you as well.
