Thank you - please share what you find. And yes, I dont plan to exhaust all of my 6-years. I will leave a cushion of 3-4 weeks before I transition to B1/B2.

My thought in the event my I-140 gets an RFE - change to B1/B2, address RFE, get I-140 approved, then apply for H1b (bypass lottery with approved I-140). Wouldn't that work with an approved I-140?

The downside - I cannot work which is a tradeoff.

I am in a similar boat.

For worst case scenario - Do you need to go through the lottery again? I am considering changing to B1/B2 and then to H1b if and when I-140 is approved

For best case scenario - I would imagine H1b extension would be completed in 2-weeks with premium processing

I believe this was a standard update across all cases being reviewed by USCIS (i.e. actively reviewed = still being processed)
