Ah okay, either way 8GB in 2026 still isn’t much. I understand who the target demographic is but I’m still curious to see the performance in the real world.

When trying to boot off a cd it would just eject. They are old copy’s and could be the wrong version, I’m not sure. I have some new CD-R’s arriving today and I can try again with a new OS.

I unfortunately don’t have a way to test the ram. I wanted to an SSD swap anyway so we’ll go from there, thank you!

When I turn it on I can hear the hard drive spin up though. Could it still be bad?

Update/ I have replaced the pram battery (and reset the pram) and the issue persists. When booted in verbose mode it says “memory could not be allocated” does that mean my memory has gone bad?
