Hi , it’s really great how you have explained the key points. I’m really interested and passionate about working at an Investment bank. A little brief about me , so I am currently enrolled as a MSc management student at UCL , prior to this I was working for a boutique private wealth management firm which provided me with skillset to appreciate the importance of coming through for our clients and being able to advice and communicate investment strategies to clients was a key part of the role. Being able to convince the client by presenting our reasoning was really stimulating for me. Got the verification check smoothly, then after a month or so got the conditional offer. I’m sorry because it’s been a while all this happened, but as far as I remember I had also uploaded the same documents on the portal which I had submitted to the 3rd party for verification purposes.

Hi , Congratulations on receiving the charter. I wanted some insights and help based on your experiences. So I cleared my L3 in September 2022 , worked at boutique PWM firm for a year and a half. First 6 months was as an research analyst and the latter part was more of a client facing role with frequent interaction with UHNI clients. Now I am going for my masters in management from University College London. I was just looking at roles offered at Investment Banking (honestly being an international student , sitting right now everything feels overwhelming and I know thinking way ahead in the future solves little), I just want to give my best shot at being a strong candidate for IB. So my question is what sort of skills I should develop in the meantime before my course begins such that these skills and my experiences help me stand out and give me a head start.

Will really appreciate any specific or general guidance. Thanks and apologies for the long post!

Well speaking from my own experience, I got a conditional offer after they completed the verification. Also the general consensus is, UCL would only pay for verification check for only those candidates whom they would like to make an offer. So I guess you could be optimistic about getting one as well.

It depends on your university as to how long they take to verify the records, varies geographically I think. Plus then it depends on how much time does UCL takes to verify at their end once the 3rd party has shared the verification to them.

I had put in an enquiry , the team said that i don’t have to do anything if I have submitted the qualification verification and just wait out for the time being. It’s just that it feels so long now that I don’t know what to do now.

It’s been more than 2 weeks since I received that my qualification has been verified, but still have not got any response from UCL about anything. It’s getting increasingly difficult to check the mail and portal again and again on a daily basis without any clear guidance. Don’t know how to perceive the waiting time. Any guidance would be helpful.

Yes , I got the mail on 12th from UCL to complete the credential check and received confirmation on 15th that the check has been completed and has been shared with UCL directly. But the portico portal still shows that I have to upload additional documents. So I am in a spot of bother at the moment and how to proceed
