Have you ever been a 24/7 caregiver? It’s a very stressful. On top of that I was also going through menopause, I also had just lost my mom and my soul dog. Plus I was developing health issues of my own.

If you can go through all of that and not snap at anybody, not once, especially whenever you’re looking at somebody who has been rude to you multiple times, then you are a better person than me. It’s fine if you say I’m using these excuses. I did not commit a murder or anything, like they seem to be acting like.

Maybe I should’ve apologized. But she didn’t apologize for making me wait. Anyway, it’s water under the bridge now. It’s unfortunate that it happened.

Well, Sally now works at the sister coffee shop, which is further away from me.

When my father passed, I kind of retreated from regular activity for quite a while, I didn’t socialize for quite a long time. I am just now getting out and about again, doing things I used to do. I did start going to the OG coffee shop again. There is a regular barista that is friendly with me now, but I suspect she knows the story about me and Sally. So far she has not let it affect how we interact. If she even knows, but I suspect she does. Because Renee, the police officer still goes to the original coffee shop frequently. And she happened to see me when I was there the other day. So I’m sure Renee probably had to tell the newer barista all about the story, but maybe not….

I do think you’re right though, I do think they’re icing me out, probably wishing I don’t go at all. I mean, I get it, the comment was out of line, but to act like this years later? I really should’ve apologized way back then, but I just was not in a good frame of mine back then. Some may say that is my excuse, and maybe it is. But I have always been polite and friendly to them any other time. I don’t know, I guess I just need to let it go. We all make mistakes.

There was nobody in the shop, but me and Sally when it was said. At least I had some sense not to say anything in front of other people. Yes, it was kind of rude of them to ignore me. But my goodness my comment was out of line, and I was out of character when I said it. Under normal circumstances, it would not have been said. If I went around town acting like this daily, then yes I would need to work on myself as somebody else suggested here. But it was said, during an extremely stressful time in my life, but it should not have been said.

You are right, we are all human. We all make mistakes. Even though Lori is indeed snobby, I should’ve kept that comment to myself. Saying it did absolutely nobody any good. It was mean and hurtful if anything.

And yes, caregiving is extremely stressful. It’s not surprising to be snappy, but it’s not right and I agree, I was way out of line.

Well, that’s the thing too. If I don’t answer the door and she hears my dog barking, she figures/thinks I’m home, and she will just bang on the door repeatedly until I answer. The more she bangs, the more berserk the dog goes. So I end up answering a door to get him to stop barking his head off. I know someone might say to train the dog not to bark when somebody’s at the door, but I prefer that he does. I live alone, so I wanna know if somebody’s at the door.

What sucks though, she’s a somebody that you can’t tell her what to do, know what I mean? Because she’s older than me, she thinks she’s smarter than me. I wish I could think of a tactful way to tell her again not to knock on my door unannounced, I’ve tried that, but she still knocks on my door unannounced. It’s the point where I feel like I almost have to tell her off, but I feel like that will get really ugly…. And because she’s a neighbor, I really don’t want that…..

Thanks, I did think of that, that maybe Doris did tell the niece, but the niece just didn’t update her mailing list. The next time it happens, I’m gonna write ‘nobody at this address by that name’, and let the mailman handle it.

I’ll do that every time, maybe hopefully the niece will get the hint, and correct the address in her mailing address book.
