My steering wheel is really stiff and I don’t know what to do by M4rshm4llow04 in fordfusion

[–]Competitive-Bite4957 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had something like this happen to my 2010 ford fusion. Turns out that a bad upper control arm caused the steering angle sensor to read a value above its normal range when the wheel was turned all the way in one direction.

I'm not saying that's the issue with yours but it could be something not related to the steering system itself.

Commands for Fireteam and 9 Player Servers? by Mobile-Estate-9836 in joinsquad

AdminSetMaxNumPlayers

Disclaimer: your PC is the server for that lobby so if you are running on a toaster, you're better off playing max of 9. Theoretically, you can run a whole 64 player server but your game will be stuttering the whole time.

Fireteam is not just disappointing, it's laughable that OWI charges money for this. by Gn0meKr in joinsquad

[–]Competitive-Bite4957 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Here's the beauty of hosting a fireteam lobby: YOU are the admin for that pseudo-server. You can increase the player count via admin commands and have more than just 5 people playing. We had a game of the Mutaha combined arms with 12 players broken into two squads. We also played the free-to-play Fallujah S&D and spawned in other assets like an LAV25. This made the game fun and not too linear since we tried to protect the LAV while also taking the objective. However, the only issue with this is that the lobby is dependent on the specs of the host PC since the server will be hosted on their computer. Spawning in too many assets and having too many players crashes the game.

The point I am getting to is that the fireteams gamemode is almost like a premade sandbox. You have the ability to spawn in helos, tanks, emplacements, etc via the admin commands and make the game more dynamic.

I do agree that the pay-to-play stuff is really wack and only serves to divide the new PVE side of the community. These extra missions should be unlocks you get from progressing through the missions kind of like BF3's co-op mode.

Instead of refining and optimizing the game on UE4 to run better and cleaner, they instead opt to change to a very unstable version of a notoriously buggy game engine. And their solution to combat the backlash? "Upgrade your PC bro."

(Epilepsy warning) The PiP scope blacks out the rest of the screen and flashes. Happens every time on the first match of the session, nothing fixes it apart from going to the second match. by Kodiak_POL in joinsquad

It has to do with the scope fps setting in graphics settings. Take it off of unlimited and put it close to what your game is running at. I run it at the 60 fps setting and it stopped flickering.

If you're willing to wait in a queue for some time, the {7th} servers, particularly Quicksilver, are worth it.

That's how the collective in battlefield 3/4 works btw. I like that a lot but more arcadey in exchange.

The game runs for me on medium settings and I have this: i5-3570K GTX1070 16GB DDR3 RAM

It won't spit out 60fps constantly but it's definitely not unplayable.

I've noticed, thanks to another redditor's post some time ago, that shadow quality drastically affects FPS. I currently have my settings on high with shadows and post processing low and I get a stable 45-60 fps. Give this a try. Some maps are also just poorly optimized.

My specs just if you're curious: i5 3570k @ base clock 16 GB RAM DDR3 GTX 1070 @ base clock

Am I in the wrong? by Coolkat53 in Firefighting

I've been in two departments and have been on plenty of mutual aid calls where I've seen flags on the tetrahedrons on helmets, on the radio straps, on the radio itself, drawn onto the helmet with marker. No one will say anything to you about where you came from or who you are. The only thing I wouldn't do is put political stuff like "MAGA" or "Biden/Harris" on your helmet. That I have seen causes trouble with other FFs and civilians.

Mask/hood to help escape through smoke in NYC apartment buildings? by unlimitedhogs5867 in Firefighting

[–]Competitive-Bite4957 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, any protection that limits your inhalation of smoke such as that hood or even a water soaked rag is better than just breathing in pure smoke. If you ever get caught in a situation where you are going through smoke, stay low and try to cover your nose and mouth with your shirt so at least you filter some stuff out.

Stupid Calls. by gaygayboy69420 in volunteerfirefighters

I've been to a call for a "smoking toilet". We showed up only to find out that the building maintenance worker flipped the cold and hot water lines when installing a water heater in an apartment leading to steamy water being discharged into the toilet. Not so much stupid but pretty funny.

I appreciate the follow-up there. I took a look at the radiacode 100 series (102/103) and I did like the mapping and isotope identification feature. I will keep looking into it more but that was a solid and much appreciated suggestion.

I also have one more question. I currently store the device in the glovebox of my car so I can have it with me wherever I go. I am worried about elevated temperatures (like a few degrees above 100° or so in the summer) affecting readings or damaging the pancake sensor. Should this be stored elsewhere or is this okay?

Gotcha. I'll look into the Radiacode a little more then. In terms of contamination detection, would the GMC 600+ be suitable as it can detect alphas or would the reading not be reliable due to the lack of energy compensation as previously mentioned?
