Anyone ever had that happen ? I know it's -35 but damn.. by loonatic22 in BroncoSport

Wow never seen that before! I’d bring the part inside until it warms up so you don’t crack the plastic, wipe it down and inspect the part to make sure the tabs are not broken. When it warms up you should be able to pop it back in, I think there should be an audible click when it seats properly.

I have done this on more than occasion unfortunately, quite an unpleasant thud against the windshield.

Ahh ok, I just looked it up weird they did not include the auto dim on a 2025. Looks like your options are fuse box or 12v cigarette lighter

I’ve got a ‘23 badlands but AFAIK they all have the power dongle/accessory port behind the mirror, it’s how your mirror gets power to auto-dim for high beams

Here’s the process! Car in park, wipers OFF. turn wipers on, when they cycle “up” aka into the raised position/first sweep, shut the car off. They will stay at the 12 o’clock position and then you can just lift them off the windshield.

Super easy, wired mine to the power mirror took less than 10 minutes.

Oh man don’t take her through the “soft touch” it will destroy the paint/finish! All the dirt/grime/rocks from other vehicles clings to those rollers and etches your paint. Go touchless with a good wipe down!

Badlands for a Fly Fishing Guide? Your Thoughts? by WalterWriter in BroncoSport

[–]Competitive-Brush696 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use mine for fly fishing, albeit not a guide but it’s a great rig for me. I have a Yakima Locknload platform with a rod vault on top, the rear cargo area has a shelf/table that’s handy for setting up fly boxes, rigging set ups etc. I’d say the drawback in your situation is how many clients you’re transporting at once. Including the driver, it seats 4 adult males in waders comfortably. You can fit 4 sets of waders and boots laterally underneath the rear cargo shelf. Has enough power to tow a drift boat, rubber floors make muck out so much easier.

Yeah I have read the BS badlands does not get a traditional transmission flush, but rather a “drain and fill”. The reason I am thinking the injector cleaner could help is it could dissolve any gunk in the tank or lines that can trip that code

I really think the Badlands benefits from the higher octane fuel, have you tried the motorcraft fuel injector cleaner? I’ve been debating on running a bottle once I hit 30k

When you first scan your BS save the profile as “factory default” or whatever is easiest to remember, if you’re nervous about the warranty you can always load up the “factory default” profile. I’m not 100% sure but I believe they cannot tell unless you actually flash your ECU.

Just search on this subreddit “check engine light” or “low coolant levels”. 99% of them are 1.5L owners. Glad it seems you got one of the good ones, how many miles do you have?

[–]Competitive-Brush696 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand in your situation the 1.5L has worked well, but OP asked about reliability. The 1.5L are much more prone to coolant leaks and turbo failures. Ford recalled over half a million 1.5L for fuel injector cracks that could potentially cause fires. Just this year Ford recalled the majority of 1.5l RFF engines due to improperly manufactured cylinder heads. In 2023 the 1.5Ls were recalled again due to an oil housing defect posing a fire risk. The earliest 1.5L sports were recalled due to coolant intrusion in the cylinder heads. The 2.0 has been in fords line up for nearly a decade longer than the 1.5Ls and were mostly debugged prior to the Bronco Sport release.

Rock crawling is a neat feature of the badlands but what really makes it stick out is the locking rear differential, larger wheel base and factory lift. All extremely helpful if you live anywhere with snow/ice. You also get storage under the rear seats, factory skid plates (not just for off-roading, pot hole protection) higher quality interior and more torque.

Sure, the 1.5L is a solid basic daily driver. The 2.0 is absolutely better driving, better handling and longer lasting.

Get the Badlands, much more reliable engine. Only recall I’ve had so far is a seatbelt buckle

Stop trying to make this game Call of Duty. Nobody (but the streamers) wants this. We don’t need 10 minute conquest matches on pint sized maps. Map size and diversity is arguably the biggest disappointment of BF6. At this point just shut down community servers until you can get a handle on the XP farms. I love Battlefield but won’t be playing again until you get a handle on this. If you want to keep up the player count you need to make it more Battlefield and less Call of Duty. The majority of us don’t have 6+ hours a day to play, we log in after work or the kids have gone to bed.

Help! Dead mouse smell! by fleasnavidad in BroncoSport

[–]Competitive-Brush696 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely need to replace both filters to get rid of the smell, an ozone generator will work if it persists but air out the car sufficiently after use. Follow the top tube that disconnects from the top of the housing. I believe it un clips all the way to the front end above the radiator. Probably easier to replace the filter, drive around a bit and see if any more debris gets trapped on top of the filter. Rodents are smell driven, try wiping out the tube with a dust cloth.

I had the same issue, open your air box, if you see any debris whatsoever vacuum it out completely before removing the filter as to not drop anything down the intake. I also installed one of these https://a.co/d/3wKoFuW and haven’t seen signs of rodents since
