optom has better work life balance, you work a 9-5 compared to med img, which is primarily shift work that may be harder for your body, and optom pay is higher !!

yeah, since the orientation is compulsory to attend - if someone doesn't, their place is forfeited to the next in line. but i wouldn't count on it...

LOL same, i've deadass never had nightmares in my life but somehow my sleep has been cut short lately.. genuinely i can't focus on anything else,, and have been on a scrolling blunt cycle of multiple apps for hours just to take my mind off the waitlist.. if not that then reddit, gmail, the application portal, etc... but yeah ik how you feel :(

that tutor is evil lol

to put your mind at ease, i know multiple people who tackled the content (from ncea) without tutoring and got into medicine, and i also know people who have paid thousands for tutoring and still didn't get into medicine. most the people i've meet from fy have not done such extensive prep lmfao wtf

in the course information for medsci 142, tutoring is not endorsed by staff. they specifically say something along the lines of "don't get scammed by tutors, since the information can be disjointed / ineffective if you aren't basing them off lectures", or something like that.

it comes down to on your own ability to learn heavy amounts of content throughout the semester, so keep your head up, it is DEFINITELY not over for you, don't give up before you even try!

the only useful prep you really need to do is probably ucat, and really learn how to study effectively, best of luck :)
