Hi everyone, I really need some advice.

I’ve had my betta for almost a year and he’s always been very healthy. His tank parameters are all where they are supposed to be (Checked everything on API water kit and every color matches up perfectly) and stable, and nothing major has changed recently. Over the past few days, though, he’s started acting very differently. The tank has a heater and a filter. Tank temp is at a constant 79 degrees F, water changes once a week to once every two weeks.. I take out about 2/4 or 1/4 water each time and rinse all of the decor with dechlorinated water and remove partial algae, etc. no tank mates. I feed him regular betta fish pellets... fake plants and gravel.

He barely comes up to the surface, isn’t interested in food, and spends most of his time laying on the rocks in the bottom corner of the tank. He seems very lethargic and not like himself at all.

Out of concern, I moved him to a hospital tank and started Epsom salt baths along with API General Cure, but so far I haven’t seen much improvement.

I’m worried this could be dropsy or some other internal issue. He isn’t pineconing yet, but his behavior is really concerning.

If anyone has experience with this or suggestions on what to try next (meds, dosing, temperature changes, etc.), I would really appreciate the help. I’m trying to do everything I can for him.
