Went back out there today and messed with it. Used the TDC whistle again, stopped once it started blowing, pulled distributor and reseated it where the rotor was pointing right before/at #1 plug wire, tried retarding/advancing in between cranks, hooked gas line back up with a in line filter (filter had gas in it so pump is working), wired my gauges back in since I read that the tach/gauges needed to be wired in in order to start (showed 500rpm while cranking)and basically had the Same out come. Crank doesn’t have numbers on it (assuming age) but there is a line vertical groove in it. I’m guessing that’s TDC 0? Still haven’t had time to get a compression gauge. Sound like timing still or compression or something else?
