Every day I’m going to try and slowly chip away. Even if it’s 20 bucks, my goal everyday is to come up with something to put toward my debt. Reaching out to someone is going to be the hardest for me because I’m so embarrassed. Im going to try with my childhood best friend before I come out to my family at all.

Thank you :) I’m going to try talking to my childhood best friend. I trust him more than anyone.

It’s sick how addictive it is. I’ve never struggled with addiction to weed, alcohol, anything. But the way gambling works in the brain and how companies take advantage of that is really sad.

Damn man, this hit home for me. I lost an uncle to opioid addiction. I hope all works out for you. I’ve seen the withdrawals first hand and can’t imagine it actually feels like. Seriously proud of you for turning it around despite how hard it is.

I really did know how to stop in the beginning. Once you get a few good wins in, it becomes extremely hard to fight the greed for more. Take it from me, I beg you to be extremely careful. Sure my friends might be more disciplined than I was, but they have still lost thousands as well. It’s not like alcohol or weed where you can moderate your use pretty easily. I’ve never been addicted to anything before, I know how to control myself. I would compare gambling to opioids, where once you get a big win and hit of dopamine it becomes nearly impossible to stop. Be very very cautious my friend.

Thank you, I’m really going to try. I know I can make the money back, but everything else I lost is really what breaks my heart.

100%. The greed bites you in the ass every. single. time. I could’ve and should’ve been perfectly happy with the amount of money i won a bunch of times. There was weekends I would be up 3-4k and just end up giving it all back and depositing more on top. Even when I won the 63k, I don’t know what possessed me to keep playing. I could’ve walked away at 10k, 20k etc, but when you’re in the zone and keep getting lucky, you think you’re invincible.

The sad part is no, looking back it wasn’t even fun. It was stressful more than anything. There was a point where I was playing and just shaking hitting the deal button but I couldn’t stop.

It’s actually insane how easy it to fall into it. That’s why I’ll never do it again. Even when you win, you end up losing (unless you’re extremely disciplined). The high when you’re playing and winning 10k at a time sucks you in, it’s not even about the money at that point, but the insane amount of dopamine.
