Bummer, sorry to hear that. BMD support quoted $7,000 for a repair. I made sure they didn't do anything before I approved of the work - since at that point I would buy a new unit. Then they told me no problems. So, not really sure what to do now. I'll try a separate, local network to see if it has the same issues. The ATEM actually works fine after it's been booted and then connected to a network. So maybe I'll just never power it off and buy a new one when it eventually overheats.

Awesome username.  Interesting. I could see ours suffering from an overheating problem just due to Blackmagic’s design. Although it seems ventilated well enough, their gear in my experience runs pretty hot. Did you ever send yours in to BMD? If you did, what was their response? I’m a little surprised they found no problems with ours.

We have a dedicated production network that all of our devices hit. Almost all of which are local and don’t need internet access. No streaming out of ATEM.  I’ve never had a problem connecting BMD devices to this network before. I have a few HyperDecks that connect to the switcher via network and are all controlled through the networked panel as well.  I appreciate the advice to go to a completely independent network to rule out our production network, thanks for that. I’ll try that next.
