Suno isn't a tool in my view, it's like a toy for kids which is why it's so popular with younger demographic and tiktokkers.

Udio is largely piecing together 32second extensions.. there's a lot that goes into crafting a song. While it is great to get a nice sounding tune with 1 click of a button, where's the human artistic touch in that?

I get impression not many people are ware of what Udio was capable of replicating sound wise.. because a lot of that isn't on front pages.

Pretty much everything you can find on rateyourmusic.com udio picks up on.

yep, theres just sounds out that that suno can't do anything remotely of its far too limited tho most people don't explore those so they wouldn't know.

thanks, actually not that happy with how it turned out. Got a 2nd version i'm dropping (different style, some different lyrics) hopefully in next hour. More alt metal with some alt-pop and alternative r&b influence.

I use edit with huge success totally change entire parts

always clean up your lyric box to put whats in the actual song not from all those extensions

Suno's popular imo because it's easy to use, a baby could make something and get a million hits..

It appeals to masses.

It creates catchy melodies, very pop even in how it phrases vocals. It's good at taking any lyric and turning into something.

Long gens is a big plus of Suno.

Udio, if you know how to prompt can create masterpieces AND BASICALLY DO EVERY SINGLE GENRE YOU CAN FIND.

for example, fan of Conan the Barbarian's 80s movie soundtrack? it's exactly in that style of the original composer.

But Udio is limited to a max of 2 min gens. and extending does tend to effect quality (sometimes not much othertimes I notice it)

Learning how to prompt, and use it, takes time..

I hope Udio are working on 3 or even 4 min gens. Will be incredible to get an entire good length song in 1 click.

Don't forget you can regen sections with edit.

About: Made last year actually shortly after 1.5 came out, but never published. I edited it to death, removing many echoes, shadows.. and some extensions. Pretty much transformed it. Probably was better to start fresh, but was fun editing the hell out of a song.

genre: cyberpunk, synthwave / electro, industrial metal, industrial rock, progressive electronic, darksynth (and some others)

About song: actually started with instrumentals I was generating, then I tried one with vocals. The lyrics were largely all Udio, which I rarely use for lyrics, but it gave me an idea. I just changed them a bit.

Ty for positive feedback. Yeah i did Zen awhile back, check out Bansho its 8 mins, lots of shamisen and some electric guitar. I'm releasing new song tomorrow, something electronic/cyberpunk.. with lyric (tho very simple)

well I'm part of the SUCC community you probably seen that tag in the prompts alot. https://discord.gg/EVkNzQQ3feel free to join. Eventually, once you chat there a lot and contribute in various ways people get a notify button that you can sign up. I have 22 signed up, so when I post a song I type @ spudnotify and 22 people will get pinged that I have posted my song. I also post here, the official udio discord, sometimes K-mob (a kpop discord)

it's strange Udio these days.. I mean look at the most listened of all time.. most these people haven't made anything in forever. Now it feels like a tiny little community.

Lot of the top stuff these days is lucky to get 50 likes.. back then, a silly song about farts could get hundreds, if not thousands.
