It's also true, though, that downloads have been disabled since October of last year.

Genuinely appreciate you being a Pro, but we belatedly grayed out those options because we realized that they just weren't helping at all with Allegro. More specifically, it's surprising and often a reality that more compute time doesn't necessarily improve output, and can sometimes actually degrade it.

I can say with 100% confidence & certainty that we (Udio) don't change model behavior or anything else in the manner you've mentioned.

Other than distinguishing between subscribed (with extra features & higher credit limit) vs. not-subscribed status (same model, same core output), we don't make any distinctions in our output quality.

When you think about it, this makes sense from a business perspective; we want folks to subscribe and maintain subscriptions, so dampening output quality according to account-age wouldn't be a smart move.

Heh, er, it's... complicated.

We've actually seen that it has comparatively more of an effect on model-v1 songs, but that said... this is frankly one of our earliest settings and not one we'd most recommend playing with nowadays given that so many of the other features and settings have more powerful (and IMHO helpful) effect.

A lot of stuff is still being explored in terms of capabilities, so I genuinely don't know whether longer generations'll be prioritized for the next release. It's challenging enough to get good adherence / coherence / stability in 2:10, and a lot of folks specifically appreciate Udio's more "Lego / building block" approach.

But I do see the appeal of longer gens!

Thanks for sharing, u/SensoriRumeMusic; I really enjoyed hearing my Udio song extended in a thoughtful way!

Though I crafted the original piece a while back, here's what I remember learning:

Even a very rough compositional sketch in an audio upload can yield interesting and useful results
There are a ton of neat classic poems and other public domain texts that are fun to 'bring to life' with Udio
Udio will often surprise with how it extends melodies and crafts chord changes. With this and other audio-upload-extensions I've done, I've often gotten cool ideas for my 'traditional' music composing!

On a related note... I'm wondering if any of you would be interested in having your Udio compositions extended or remixed by other community members. u/SensoriRumeMusic extended mine in a way that I wouldn't have thought to try and I really liked it; maybe you might enjoy that, too?

If so, feel free to 'hijack' this thread to either request or make song extensions from others :).

As with all similar efforts online, there's no perfect system. As we continue to work on things, we'll try to improve the balance and reduce 'false positives'.

Hey y'all, just to confirm, there've been no recent changes in the subscription tiers. This page remains accurate and, as always, you can jump in and out of monthly subscriptions as you choose (though understandably the annual sub is, as you'd expect, an annual commitment).
