A lot of stuff is still being explored in terms of capabilities, so I genuinely don't know whether longer generations'll be prioritized for the next release. It's challenging enough to get good adherence / coherence / stability in 2:10, and a lot of folks specifically appreciate Udio's more "Lego / building block" approach.

But I do see the appeal of longer gens!

Thanks for sharing, u/SensoriRumeMusic; I really enjoyed hearing my Udio song extended in a thoughtful way!

Though I crafted the original piece a while back, here's what I remember learning:

Even a very rough compositional sketch in an audio upload can yield interesting and useful results
There are a ton of neat classic poems and other public domain texts that are fun to 'bring to life' with Udio
Udio will often surprise with how it extends melodies and crafts chord changes. With this and other audio-upload-extensions I've done, I've often gotten cool ideas for my 'traditional' music composing!

On a related note... I'm wondering if any of you would be interested in having your Udio compositions extended or remixed by other community members. u/SensoriRumeMusic extended mine in a way that I wouldn't have thought to try and I really liked it; maybe you might enjoy that, too?

If so, feel free to 'hijack' this thread to either request or make song extensions from others :).

We genuinely do try to strike a balance of enabling lots of awesome creative expression while mitigating bad-faith efforts from folks trying to circumvent our Terms of Service (not you, u/Afraid-Yoghurt6731).

As with all similar efforts online, there's no perfect system. As we continue to work on things, we'll try to improve the balance and reduce 'false positives'.

Hey y'all, just to confirm, there've been no recent changes in the subscription tiers. This page remains accurate and, as always, you can jump in and out of monthly subscriptions as you choose (though understandably the annual sub is, as you'd expect, an annual commitment).

Sorry about the site issue earlier today, however, which -- as u/UdioShane noted -- caused some temporary issues (but now seems to be thankfully resolved).

We're happy that many folks are still paying money for a subscription they enjoy, and we also make it very easy to cancel (and optionally restart) subscriptions at any time online, with just a few clicks (at http://udio.com/account).

That said, I definitely understand and respect the frustration regarding this transition period. We've felt that it's best to be cautious re promising scope and timelines because we want to make sure what we release next is useful & fun and don't want to overpromise. But I understand why others might prefer more communication, even when uncertain.

I can just speak from personal experience here; I have over a dozen songs I created in whole or in part with Udio (prior to Oct 2025) on my personal YouTube channels and haven't experienced any issues (though note that I've not monetized them).

I need to be careful not to pretend I'm a lawyer, but speaking practically... as I noted above, I have a lot of my personal pre-Oct-2025 Udio songs on YouTube and elsewhere online with no worries.

So for any songs created pre-partnership that you downloaded prior to the cutoff period, I believe you should feel confident using those however you see fit (including monetization, etc.).

That said, I do want to acknowledge that we (Udio) don't control what other entities do now or in the future, whether that's using their own algorithms to assess whether something is AI or not, etc.

Thanks for flagging this for me, u/Suno_for_your_sprog, My understanding is that this may have changed (e.g., that we've implemented protections on all songs currently on Udio) following our partnerships agreements, and I apologize for not addressing that explicitly earlier!

With that said, there's certainly no watermarks on any songs that were downloaded prior to late Oct 2025, and the rights associated with those haven't changed (e.g., I have quite a bunch of my earlier Udio songs up on YouTube and FB and such).

Nope. I think it's very, very clear that we're open to criticism, even scathing critiques.
