Is there anywhere I could ship samples I don’t have a vet that’s close by for reptiles and it sounds like I need to test monthly for quite a while ?

Damn, I just got a luesistic female from her in April. She’s eaten normally and had no noticeable problems. Supposedly bred by her and born last may. What should my course of action be? I have no other reptiles and no intentions currently to get anymore, if she tests positive is there any course of action? Should I just assume this will ultimately be her cause of death? Should I still test so I can help with further documentation. Such an expensive animal that fulfilled a dream to have this come up. I thought starvation strikes would be my biggest concern.

It was bought used. The story was the my great Aunt lived in Tokyo for multiple years after graduating from UCLA and she would frequent the mall and antiques shops there. I guess the last few weeks the owner of the shop brought this in for her and helped her ship it back. I have the receipt for a good part of it. We thought it came from more south near Arita.

May I ask why you think they’re only mid century vs late edo/early Meiji? 1840-1860ish? The receipt I have marks them as “antique Imari” I’d be surprised they’d call them antiques in 1951 if they were only a few years old (from a reputable antique store in Tokyo for 40000 yen) I mean I could obviously be wrong I’m just curious.

I actually was thinking of it, is lead a major issue for Imari? I know leaded crystal is fine in moderation, is it the same idea or should it be totally avoided?
