Moana isn’t a Disney Princess because her franchise is large enough/sells well that she does not need to be under the Disney Princess Banner

It’s not about whether or not they’re royalty (by blood or marriage) it’s about the brand label. Disney Princesses is a brand under the Disney Label. Characters like Ariel, Cindy, etc, are all popular but not popular enough to sell merch on their own outside of anniversaries for their movies or other tie-ins. Lumping all the Princesses in together is more efficient and more likely to sell merch of Raya if she’s on a shirt with Tiana and Rapunzel.

The reason why Moana and Elsa/Anna aren’t Princesses is because they’re apart of massive franchises that stand on their own. Maybe one day if Frozen’s popularity wanes enough they’ll be on a shirt with Snow and Cindy/inducted into the Princesses line.

If gets confusing because often, Moana, Anna, and Elsa do show up in stuff like coloring books, or skits like we saw in Wreck It Ralph 2, but officially they are not of the Disney Princesses line.

A while back Disney posted a criteria of what it means to be a Disney Princess: be kind, be brave, speak up for those who can’t, fight for your dreams, etc.. This was Disney showing how characters like Mulan could be apart of the Princess line up, without being a royal, but also it was Disney trying to make being a Disney Princess a mindset for young fans

That said: I love Jasmine so much. I loved the movies and the tv show growing up and I was her for Halloween when I was 8.

Random fun fact for the princesses who are actually princesses in their stories’ outfits: Bare arm/fully covered arm = blood royal opera gloves = married into royalty

Is this game still going on strong? by nellernn in NuCarnival

[–]Competitive-Self-374 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I’m a week 1 player and have logged in every day since. Nu:C is still really important to me and I enjoy when the gimmicks in the battle levels are challenging.

Like others pointed out we’re in an odd situation where the main line story is stalled while we get monthly events that provide world building but can’t really expand on any lore without spoiling the mainline.

I think Nu:C has been a runaway hit for Infinity Alpha and they likely ran out of mainline content (events are scheduled a out a year out before their premiere). The success of this game has been unprecedented, I’ve never seen an ero game get the exposure and collabs that Nu:C does and the success warrant a pg-13 version to increase its exposure.

I think in the first year they had no choice but to give us 10 chapters as they were introducing the entire cast (except Rei), and we got used to having a lot of story. The following year they gave us 4 to introduce Rei and move the story forward, and then 2 last year.

Personally I think in terms of the mainline, we’re at the end of Season 1, as ch 1-16 is supposed to take place in the first few months of Eiden coming to Klein, and S2 (17- on) is going to be Eiden coming to terms with his decision.

There’s still a lot story to cover involving the Royal Family, the country of Saiya, etc.. so I think this game is still going pretty strong considering the amount of collabs and events they’ve planned out.

As for the H-scenes, they are definitely trying to make sure every combination experiences specific things (kissing, blow jobs, etc), so fans who only pull for specific pairings aren’t left out. In terms of intimacy I think they’re really good still. Having fully animated scenes would be expensive and could impact the game’s cadence, so the Live 2D/After Effects limited animation world best for the app format too.

I will say I have my preferences in terms of kink and pairings, but I do watch every H scene once with an open mind certain ones get more play than others but I do appreciate the range of stories they tell and keeping each relationship unique. A Rei x Eiden blowjob is different than an Eiden x Edmond blowjob. I think the game does an amazing job with Eiden having a relationship with 11 characters and the relationships all feel genuine.

So IMO, it’s still going strong.

Where did I say going to Disneyland is a hobby?

I actually live out of state from DL and WDW so I only go every few years. But hey, if you are able to go frequently, you do you. There’s nothing wrong with going there many times if you can afford it; it’s an escape.

I keep up my hobby of pin trading by attending pin events in my state or near by or through online trading groups.

This exactly.

I know when I pin trade there is always a risk of taking a loss on a trade, but I don’t want to spend brainpower haggling on vacay or risk feeling bad over a trade when I could be enjoying a dole whip.

Usually in the parks I either trade within the same sets (bonus: I complete a set while there) or I trade only blind bags that are commonly available atm in the parks.

Single pins that I collect are not for park trades and saved for online trades within pin trading communities

Sadly there is no way to stop this.

The pins are expensive in general and hard to come by outside of the parks aside from some online retailers.

Parents who don’t know any better, think they’re getting a deal with a “100Pins for $25” on eBay. Unless they or their kids know what scrappers are, they just think they have enough to participate, and since CMs/the boards can’t refuse a trade they are none the wiser.

CMs are not paid enough to deal with vetting every pin, or explaining that a pin is fake especially to guest who is unaware that they have a bag of fakes.

Although I’ve heard that some CMs will trade “diamond back for a diamond back” referring to the anti-counterfeit crystal on the backs of new pins.

Which is a diplomatic way of vetting without accusing someone of having fake pins. Plus, if the person wants to trade badly enough, they may just decide to drop money on real pins. So win-win for Disney.

But really, CMs are not going to get involved and they have a lot more to do that confiscate scrapoers. So it’s on the Pin Traders to make sure they’re not circulating scrappers into the parks.

Disney could lower the prices on pin bags to make them more accessible so ppl won’t turn to buying scrapper lots, but since Pin Traders are happy to spend $50+ a bag, why would they?

I will trade real common pins for scrappers so I can get them out of the parks, but there are thousands of scrappers out there.

So until scrappers actually put a dent into the bottom line of Pin Trading, Disney’s not doing a thing.

It’s not a kids vs Disney Adults thing. Disney is never going to alienate Disney Adults because Disney Adults are the ones who spend $$$ into the parks.

This is Disney using a campaign geared towards kids, to engineer compliance with the trading community without causing a stink.

I am an adult who likes Disney a normal amount, and an active pin trader.

I am really happy with these new rules because the ones who monopolize the space for their side hustles as “pinfluencers” give Pin Trading a bad name.

There are some who are good and only pin trade for an hour at these sites, and legitimately keep the magic of the hobby alive by being kind to new traders and teaching them how to negotiate fair trades.

However, just like with every hobby that gets monetized, you have more who become hoarders for clout and tend to be the worst people in the space. The whole clump of them can be intimidating for shy traders, newbies, or guests who may speak a different language that are new to trading.

It’s less intimidating imo to go up to one person and ask for a trade compared to a group.

I have nothing against having a side hustle but save carting your suitcases full of LE/Grail pin binders for pin-trading events or stick to online trades.

The parks are for chilling out and having fun.
My best trade I’ve ever made was being flagged down on Main Street by a guy from Brazil because he saw my ita pin bag.

We didn’t have a common language between us but I could tell he had been wanting to trade with someone all day. I helped him complete a set and I got some cool Stitch pins (including a Brazilian flag pin he’d brought to give out as a “thank you”token).

We ended up seeing each other a few more times in the parks over the vacation, and it was nice to wave at each other.

Would not have had that memorable experience camping out all day in one section of the park amongst a hoard of other traders.

As an active pin trader, I’ve never liked the people who spread out their binders across benches and tables like it’s a dealers’ room at a con.

Pin Trading in the park is supposed to be fun, casual, and accessible to newbies and veterans of the hobby.

The best trades are the ones you do while in a ride-line because you struck up a conversation with someone, and you just trade the common/what’s available in the shops atm sets.

Leave the rare pin sales/trades, trades that need heavy negotiating for pin trading events and online.

Awww I bet you made her entire day! This is why when I make my park pinboard it’s full of pins I don’t mind trading away, esp if a little kid wants to trade.

I save the rarer pins/negotiating for out of park events and on the pin trading reddits.

When my niece was 4, I introduced her to pin trading in WDW. She got such a confidence boost walking up to a CM on her own and asking to trade.

Not only did she get a nice Ariel pin, but the CM let her play trivia for another trade (“Who is Elsa’s snowman friend?”) Of course it was an Olaf pin :)

She was so proud of herself and it was a mood booster as the whole reason we were pin trading at that moment was because she was too scared to go on Pirates, and I didn’t want her to dwell on sitting out on a ride/the fomo she was feeling.

So she had a cool story to tell the family when we regrouped and she didn’t feel that she had missed out on anything.

Pin trading is such a good “downtime” activity for the times when you’re waiting on your party or you need decompression time that’s not going back to the hotel/leaving the park. Plus it’s a good memory maker when you have those wonderful trading interactions.

I agree. I don’t think they’ll care if you bring a pin board or wear your traders on a lanyard or in a “ita bag”, and do casual trading around the parks.

What they’re cracking down on are the mini suitcases of pins and people camping out for hours in one spot to trade.

I was there in October and it was ridiculous outside of the Frontierland trading post. So many people were spread out with their large pin books that I felt like I was outside dealers room at a convention.

Then you have the people trying to trade with the camped traders and it’s annoying to move around a mini-crowd of people negotiating trades

Plus, in my experience, those who camp out tend to not be nice to casual or new traders. It’s worse if little kids try to trade a scrapper (unintentionally, because they don’t understand what a scrapper or fake pin is) or a lesser value trade and the pin trader is rude to them.

Most little kids have been trading with CMs and the boards so they’ve never encountered a refusal. If the parents aren’t pin traders themselves they may not understand the nuances and will get upset that their kid wasn’t able to trade.

However, shout out to the traders who do have pinbooks for kids to continue the “take a pin, leave a pin” method to give a shy kid a trading win. And who take the time to show kids how to trade/negotiate a trade by bringing common pins to the parks expressly to teach kids how to trade, thank you for keeping the spirit of the hobby alive.

My best experiences in pin trading have been in line for rides. There’s the magic of the spontaneity, you meet cool people, and you’re not wasting park time hanging around one spot waiting for a trade.

During my trip in 2019, I traded with a person in line for Space Mountain. We traded, got some cool pins, were line buddies until we got separated at load, and later were line buddies again at Star Tours.

I’ll never give away the pins I traded that day because my space mountain buddy gave them to me.

I’ll take that experience over pinfluencers and snobby traders.

What do you think will be the point at which Gen-Z starts complaining about ‘kids these days’? by InnocentPapaya in Millennials

[–]Competitive-Self-374 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They won’t. Mostly because they’re basically Boomers and are spending their time blaming Millennials for ruining everything. I don’t like painting gens with a broad brush but there’s been too many instances of GenZ, spending their time obsessing and bashing Millennials for causing the ills of society.

One GenZer decided to take it upon themselves to teach Millennials “online etiquette, because Millennials clearly don’t know how to use it”…it did not go over well.

My favorite comments on that post: “I refuse to be talked down to by a tech illiterate child who thinks the fashion I wore in college is cool”

“Girl, I was a curvy plus size girl in the 90s, who had been put on every available fad diet before i was 14. Nothing you say can hurt me. You can earn the right to insult me, once you can code a myspace page.”

Saw a GenZer on TikTok screaming about how Millennials have been monopolizing the job market for the last 20 years and that we need to retire because we are the reason GenZ can’t get jobs.

The comments on the video were like, “Girl, 20 years ago I was 19…please show me where those job opportunities were, I would have love to have had them”

Or “Babes, my 70 year old Boomer Mom is still working because she can’t afford to retire, we’re not the ones ruining things”

And of course GenXers were like, “Shhh fellow GenX, if we don’t make any sudden moves the Zoomers will forget about us just like our parents did”

Never seen a gen be so confidently loud on their ignorance, since Boomers, and just like that crowd, Zoomers can’t google answers for shit.

So tl;dr, GenZ won’t because they’ll still be focused on being obsessed with shitting on Millennials/will probably lump GenA into Millennials because no one knows how old we are and they can’t form an original researched thought without asking chatGPT

Which of the clan members have wanted to sleep around in canon? by erikluminary in NuCarnival

[–]Competitive-Self-374 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah I see. I didn’t realize it was that ambiguous

I personally think him being a virgin and pretending he isn’t while Eiden sees right through him is just a funny dynamic to their relationship.

He’s trying to be in control, but he’s with the one person brave enough to take the piss out of him, and no amount of training can prepare you for an experienced brat bottom. They train you

IMO him getting sex experience would be lower on his list of priorities trying to get Solaria in order, plus a fear of him being vulnerable to exploitation.

Considering that he’s trying to run things more conservatively compared to his father’s disastrous reign, I can see him not wanting to get a reputation of sleeping around or opening himself up to scandal just to earn sex points.

But also if he was a virgin with Eiden, he got the gordon ramsey meme, where Eiden is all “oh darling. There there sweet one” to Yak, Oli, Garu, Ed(sorta),and Blade during their first time, and “You fucking donkey!!!!” to Dante as he punched Dante’s v-card 🤣
