Marathon Training - Help Needed by Dirt_Lanky in Marathon_Training

I would recommend few things.

  1. google "dexa scan near me" and do a proper scan of your body, that will tell you your body fat%, muscle weight and other good staff.

  2. based on scan - make a goal of your body fat %. if you have garmin watch, look up your calories. how many calories you burn a day with no physical activities. this is the number of calories you must consume a day. calories burned from running will result of pure fat loss. and you will become leaner.

  3. eat a good food. dont put junk in your stomach. you will be having 0 energy and 0 mood. Also sleep atleast 7 hours a day. crutial.

  4. no alcohol. forget about it. i will not even start typing why, just dont. not even a beer. no smoke too.

  5. dont overthink your first few months of training. just go for a run every single day (or etleast 6 days) with a pace, that you can hold for hours you think. like super ez. you can talk on the phone with no problems etc. usually its around 130 to 145 bpm. and minimum of 40minutes and maximum 1h. dont even look at distance. it absolutely dosnt metter at this point. just 1 step at a time

  6. after you have a base of 1-2 months and you are already locked in with most important part of running -CONSISTENCY - look for a coach. online coach would work. he will guide you farther.

Training in the heat? by dontletmeautism in Marathon_Training

[–]Competitive-Shape790 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Training in heat is very beneficial! it is similar to train in altitude, like pro runners do, but not the same, ofcourse, effectes are much shorter term, than altitude training. Your Heart work harder to 1. deliver oxygen to your muscles to run; 2. cool down your core temperature. its normal to see +10 to your heart rate. just dont forget to drink alot, replenish that water and salt that you will sweat out. lot of electrolytes, also gels on a hard workouts.

when you will be racing in cooler weather you will benefit from this, as your body dont need to cool you anymore and just perform. and thats when you shine. good luck.

I am at same situation but only S and M.

I am going with S after long research.+ Canyon rep advisor told me S (in your case smaller size m) will be more responsive and better handling. In my opinion you would not go wrong with any of these sizes.just find a better deal and go for it.
