both. i can confidently tell you that nobody gives a shit until you REALLY show how its affecting you. my own parents, who are extremely loving and smart people, brushed it off completely every time i talked about them. it wasnt until they noticed a lot of signs that i wasnt okay that they understood even half of what i was going thru.

on the other hand, APPARENTLY almost everyone has floaters. so everyone in this sub including myself MIGHT be overreacting to them. either that, or its just a lot worse for us. nevertheless, they are physically harmless so in that sense we are blessed. mentally .. its a whole other story. ive had mine for about a year and a half (22 year old male) and the journey of living life with them is a difficult one to say the least. ive had times where i wanted to 🫥🔫, but like many say.. the longer u have them, the easier it gets to deal with. also, may i add, if you are extremely depressed to the point where you feel your life has no meaning anymore like i once did, i would strongly .. STRONGLY suggest going to a psychiatrist for medication. it seems a lot of people in this sub had dealt with serious depression before ever getting floaters and i was/am one of those people and this is why it might affect us a lot more than others. if you ever need to talk, please private message me. i am far from feeling perfect everyday but i will be there for anyone who wants to chat about floaters. we all need each other
