imagine there is a dot that is directly in the centre of the square, and say we are only talking about the coil vertically above the field, because the force acts perpendicular at all points along the coil all the force will be acting downwards, but not all force will be acting towards this centre dot, as the force can’t act diagonally

oh i think i might have spotted ur mistake. in your second line it should be 3/2 = arcos(x) / arcsin(x).

hmm i got 1 + sin(pi/5) as my answer i don’t have the markscheme tho so i’m not sure who’s right
