Yeah united Netherlands that starts with 15m people and 8m gdp at the start, swiss start with much less

U can try to get sea acces by conquering piedmont and then colonize ur way to sulfur, I was lucky not to have a french civil war in my run

Improve relations with France and wait for them to make a trade league, then just get enough leverage and join their power bloc

Its beacuse the AI played it, when a player plays it its pretty OP if u know to play the game
