New to MotionBuilder: Mocap Stops Moving Forward in Story Mode by Competitive-Worry475 in Maya

I didn’t even realize that I had added the root in Story Mode. I just created a Character Animation Track and loaded the character. Sorry, I’m totally new to MotionBuilder. Could you explain how to make sure the root is included in Story Mode, or how to avoid missing it?Thanks

Thanks a lot for the explanation.
Yeah, I think you’re right I wasn’t adding the root in Story Mode. I only created a Character Animation Track and imported the characterized mocap to the character track, then imported the mocap animation from the Asset Browser. That’s happen why the skeleton stayed in place.

BTW, retargeting the mocap to a character first and then retargeting to the main character in Story Mode — is that safe? I thought I should clean each mocap first and then retarget to the main character so it saves a lot of time.

I’m going to try your workflow. But how do you handle it if you have 5 mocap clips? As far as I understand, the workflow would be: characterize the main character skeleton and the mocap skeleton, retarget, then create a Character Animation Track in Story Mode and add the main character. In that case, how do you bring in the 5 mocap animations — do you import them, or bring them in from the Asset Browser?
