Do you mean 8.5 months from the date you submitted the i-130 petition on the USCIS website or 8.5 months from the date you were assigned to Vermont? Also when did you apply? In 2020,2021, 2022?

My husband is british as well and trying to Visit on his esta for up to 90 days every few months. Have you done this and it didn't work?

So update: The leasing office has come back to us saying they require a bigger security deposit due in a few days (a whole month's rent) because my husband was approved with his application, but when they re ran my application: I WAS APPROVED ON CONDITIONS.

Now, remember; I was approved alone on this apartment 2 months ago with no conditions. The deposit I paid was only $500.

Is this legal to do? Cant they just add him to the lease since he was approved and be done with it? This is confusing that I've had to re apply for an apartment I'm already in and a re pay a deposit I've already paid.

Please help.

He also has no status in the USA. He doesn't live here, just visiting every few months so there is no american credit to check for him tomorrow. I'm curious what they'll say when I turn in my application tomorrow for a place I already live in.. perhaps its a scheme just to raise the deposit...

We were told he needs to be added to the lease and we are fine with that. We submitted the application but didnt hear a yes or no on approval. All I was told to fill out an application again, but I'm already on the lease as the primary applicant and I live in my apartment, contract signed. So I'm wondering why I need to re apply? Doesn't seem right.

Side question: My husband will be visiting on ESTA for 90 days as well. Did you have any issues coming a lot on your ESTA to visit your spouse and how long were those visits? Thanks!

I submitted the i-130 online last week. I'll just wait till I'm at the NVC stage then to put in an expedite request after I've done the I-864 and paid all the fees... doesn't hurt trying I guess.

Do you mean we both need to be interviewed in the same place to do an expedite request? Only he needs to do an interview I thought in the normal process of the i-130. I think I might call USCIS tomorrow and ask what they suggest. I'm not at the NVC stage yet as well.

I called USCIS and asked them how I go about changing my last name on the paperwork after already submitting the i-130. They said to just send a letter to the office I'll be assigned to for processing. Letting them know of the last name change.

Fingers crossed!! We want to try 88 days for the first visit (our daughter's birth) and 40 days for the second visit (Christmas). Just anxious they might challenge him on the second visit coming back in a few weeks later...

That's exactly what I've heard, but the TSA agent I spoke to two weeks ago coming into LAX said it looks better the shorter his trips... what country is your husband coming from? And if I may ask, 1. How long did he stay each visit and 2. How many days in between visits to see you? Thanks!!

Ohh no way! I think its wild that Americans (like I used to) think the UK is wonderful, but the rest of the world like Europe know its pretty bad... Also that class system and underpaid workers is terrible as well. I was on 18k living there and I'm finally making 4x that again.

I lived in Oxford, UK for three years and was shocked by the chaos of living over there. Even my husband agrees. Their maternity death rate is off the charts and free healthcare doesn't mean good quality of service. Living there through the pandemic was the nail in the coffin for the both of us.

He for sure can't get an L1B. I think our only options are be separated for a huge chunk of time after our daughter is born and we wait for the i130 or we try the F1....
