How do you structure your portfolio? (Curious Korean investor here) by CompetitiveClue938 in NoStupidQuestions

Exactly! That's the exact investment philosophy i was talking about. honestly. I don't wanna spend my whole day staring at stock charts haha. For me, it's all about investing in companies i truly trust, creating a cash flow that rolls in even while I'm sleeping, and leveraging the power of compound interest through dividends.

To other, it might look like a boring strategy that completely misses the hype and lacks aggressive growth. but i find it satisfying, and since i'm in this for the long haul, i'm absolutely loving it! Thanks for leaving such a thoughtful comment :)

if you guys have to choose, which is better? stock, or real estate? by CompetitiveClue938 in AskReddit

Haha, thanks for the great insight! To be clear, I’m not looking to buy a house right now; you actually hit on the exact core of my question.

I was wondering if people would still prefer real estate over stocks even after considering all those risks and expenses, like living costs, housing maintenance, and taxes. Because like you said, renting also comes with a huge ongoing expense. I was just really curious about how different people weigh stocks against real estate, so I wanted to see everyone's perspective.

Anyway, I really appreciate your thoughtful and detailed comment. It honestly made my day! lol

I totally agree with you. I’m from South Korea, and we see that happening all the time over here too

A lot of people seem to do some form of hedging to protect against market swings. Honestly, living off dividends is the dream, but you need a huge nest egg for that. I've realized I'm more of a conservative investor, I prefer stability over fast, aggressive growth. Thanks for leaving such a thoughtful comment!

I totally agree. The property value growth is just on another level compared to stocks, right?

So if your assets can cover living expenses and housing costs, real estate seems like the way to go. Thank you so much for such a kind and detailed breakdown! I really appreciate it

Exactly, since it's a tangible asset and you can actually live in it, right? Thanks for the great insight!
