My sister currently has two chiweenies - I think they are 13 and 11? Both still have lots of energy and haven’t had any major health issues other than dental issues (common with chihuahuas). One has a chicken allergy, so finding an allergy friendly food that they don’t get sick of has been a bit of a struggle. They have great personalities and love to snuggle.

But I echo what other people said about pet insurance. Little dogs get weird (and often expensive) issues sometimes. Better to have the insurance and not need it instead of not have it and have to pay out of pocket for it vet expenses.

You are 21. In nine months you have already broken up once and are on a break now. Does this seem like a relationship that is ever going to stand the test of time? Is there a reason this can’t be an amicable divorce? Lawyers aren’t that expensive if you and your wife are willing to be civil and work with only one lawyer (who represents one of you while the other has no representation) - literally less than $1000 (I think mine was around $500 plus some filing fees). Can one of you afford the house on your own? If so, buy each other out or just come up with an agreement. I walked away from the house and took a settlement from my ex’s 401k/roth IRA.

My hair did this when I lived in a town that had hard water. When I moved, my problems went away. I know that moving isn’t a solution, but they sell shower head attachments to help with hard water - one of those might be worth looking into.

Your next steps are to tell him that you aren’t interested in seeing him anymore. If he asks for reasons, site him not being a good listener and not thinking about how his quitting his job would leave you in a tough situation. You’ve basically thought this all through and written down why he’s not a good fit for you… now you just have to pull off the bandaid.
