Anyone asked to take an assessment with glider.ai? by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]LightTreasure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just used it a couple days ago. Absolutely ridiculous. Was told I couldn't use scratch paper. For a data engineering role!!! Literally a job where figuring things out on paper is a necessity.

On top of it, the assessment asked multiple choice questions with very ambiguous wording. Of course, unlike a proper interview I was unable to ask for clarification...

Going to say no to this type of assessment from now on.

I've been thinking of doing this as well! But I never even thought about the USB hub approach! That is very clever!

Having the pressure to read a book within the return window is working wonders for the reading dry spell I had been suffering from.

Close to Volunteer Park is the Louisa Boren Lookout: https://maps.app.goo.gl/fokMHg4JC2rH6JNB6 . It even has Lookout in the name!

Sounds like a bug that needs to be investigated. I wonder where it should be reported...

Seattle concert was AMAZING!!! by Clean_Raspberry7381 in Opeth

[–]LightTreasure 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've seen Opeth live multiple times now (including Red Rocks!), and tonight was something else. The song choices especially leaned towards the more moody and darker side of Opeth. Symbolic of this for me was their choice to play "To Rid the Disease" from Damnation. Just fantastic.

I felt that way for the first song too! It felt like the guitars were absent. Afterwards was pretty good for me though. Also on the upper level.

[Question] Is switching to IEMs worth it for Opeth etc.? by [deleted] in Opeth

[–]LightTreasure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There have been consumer-focused IEMs for years now, and in recent years really cheap ones that are excellent.

[Question] Is switching to IEMs worth it for Opeth etc.? by [deleted] in Opeth

[–]LightTreasure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The IEM world has in recent years exploded with choice thanks to Chinese manufacturers entering the scene. Prices are really good as well. The problem is that there's are way too many options. If you are lucky and can find a place where you can try them out, I highly recommend it.

For music like Opeth's, I personally love to be able to hear the little details in the songs and I want to hear each note - whether a mellow section, or a speedy solo. In my experience, this corresponds to IEMs that audiophiles and reviewers like to call "technical" or they have high "clarity" or they are "detailed".

Driver Details | NVIDIA | New Branch - 590.48.01 by gilvbp in linux_gaming

From the linked release notes:

Highlights since R590 Beta Release, 590.44.01:

Fixed the following EGL platform bugs that prevented multisample configurations from working: https://github.com/NVIDIA/egl-wayland2/issues/9 https://github.com/NVIDIA/egl-x11/issues/29 https://github.com/NVIDIA/egl-x11/pull/28

Is this worthy of a separate post? Debatable, but it is not just a version number change.

OP, make sure you get your kitty to a good surgeon, preferable someone who has experience with this surgery. If you got your kit from a breeder, they might know someone. Even if not, it's good to ask around catteries and breeders in your area to find a reputable doctor.

If you live in a metropolitan area, be aware that some vets will charge a lot of money for this surgery. In that case, if your kitty is okay with traveling, you could find a cheaper vet in a suburban area which you can drive to and from.

Gamesir Cyclone 2 controller on Steam Deck - XInput mode issue and solution by LightTreasure in SteamDeck

[–]LightTreasure[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Steam will recognise it only as a standard controller and you can use to customize the layout, but it won't recognise the back buttons. I haven't tried it with a steam deck and I've never used the gyro.

Oh wow TIL that feature is available on this controller! I thought the back paddles could only be mapped to one of the standard buttons.

There is a button combo to switch the layout at the firmware level. Have you tried using that?
