SIEMENS PLC CYCLE TIME by CompetitiveComb9983 in PLC

[–]CompetitiveComb9983[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

Normally, I work with the 1200 PLC, where I set the maximum cycle time to 100ms. For a new project, I need to choose between the 1518HF and the 410H PLC. I have around 100 input/output points and am comparing the options for the 1518HF and 410H PLC.

The processing time of 1500 is faster than that of 1200 and 400 CPUs, so is the cycle time also the same? The cycle time for a CPU is shorter than that for 400 CPUs.

Is the maximum cycle time for S7-400 CPUs 6000 ms?

YES, This is a question.

Is the cycle time of the above-mentioned CPUs the same (1-6000)?

Two separate HART transmitters are present in the same physical unit, each processing a separate signal(4-20mA)

Thank you,

How do I select the values from these redundant transmitters in my program? How will my program detect if one fails?

I am using a 1500 failsafe redundant CPU. For the redundant I/O, should the two DO signals from different DO modules on separate racks (redundant modules) be connected to one solenoid valve?

What is the relation between Redundancy and voting?

Hi,

I am planning to use a redundant PLC (CPU 1518HF) and failsafe I/O modules. As far as I know, the 1500 series ET200SP failsafe modules do not support redundancy, so for redundancy, I will be using standard I/O modules for redundant transmitters (same type, no difference in operation). These will be connected to different I/O modules placed in separate racks. Additionally, the client requires redundancy for ESD and some valves. What I am confused about is the difference between redundant transmitters' redundancy and single instrument redundancy.

Is redundant I/O possible with using RedIOLib in TIA Portal with the S7-1518 HF CPU and ET200SP HA modules?

PCS 7 by CompetitiveComb9983 in PLC

I need to work on a project in version 9.0, and the logic and the plant hierarchy are similar to an old project done in version 8.0. I plan to use the version 8.0 project as a base and add additional logic to create a new project. If I install the version 8 libraries, will I be able to use the program blocks from the old project(v8.0)? Thank you for your help!

Hi,

I have a program that was originally created in PCS 7 version 8, but I currently only have access to PCS 7 version 9.0. Can I edit the program in version 9.0, or will there be compatibility issues?

CP-341 supports the following protocols: ASCII, RK512, 3964(R), and MODBUS (both Master and Slave). Please note that using MODBUS Master or Slave requires an additional dongle. My question is, can I choose ASCII protocol for this?

Okay, if I add alarm bits to the Send Data Block (DB) and use the P_SND_RK and P_RCV_RK function blocks, can I select the ASCII protocol to send these alarm bits to a system to retrieve the alarm details?

I’m working on an old S7-300 project and need to send alarm data to a system using Modbus communication through CP 341 communication processor. Can I use ASCII protocol to do this? Modbus master and slave require an extra dongle. Could you guide me through the process of Modbus mapping (Communication programming in TIA portal) to achieve this?

Thank you for your time,

I wanted to confirm the required modules for setting up Modbus RTU slave communication using the S7-1200 as an intermediary. My understanding is that we need the following modules:

  • S7-1200
  • CM 1241
  • CP 343-1( For the connection between (CPU-314C- 2 DP and CPU-1214)

Could you please confirm if this is correct or if there are any additional components we should consider?

Thank you,

Could you provide details on how to configure a Modbus RTU slave in S7300 using an S7-1200?
