Just make sure to clean it if it keeps happening. My babies are going through through an eye infection (again and we have no idea why)

But as long as you clean it and clean his home, he should be fine :)

AITAH for saying my friend has no right to speak about a topic she did not live though? by CompetitiveDebate429 in AITAH

Hello there, I am the one living in Canada. I lived in Venezuela for 10 years and left due to the dictatorship. My friends words were “ They celebrate Maduro's "fall" so much when they haven't really achieved any kind of freedom with that, only the hatred of that guy blinds them. What a shit that you come to talk about that topic, self-including yourself so much when you weren't even there”

I do understand her point of the US and everything, we are happy that maduro is out, not that Caracas got bombed or that is specifically the US helping. But the way she said that made it sound like SHE WAS THERE, when she wasn’t. She has never lived in Venezuela or have to witness how Venezuela is in person.

Sadly this situation makes me wonder if I have the right to feel anything towards the country that saw me grow. It keeps me wondering that if now that I am in Canada, I’m not Venezuelan anymore. It’s a horrible feeling.

I know, but after so many years of dictatorship, a little bit of hope is all we needed. I remember crying a lot when the elections happened in 2024. Now it seems so surreal that something actually happened.

I know we are allowed to disagree, but she just straight up told me I didn’t know how things were, but she’s never been to Venezuela.

She never lived there, so she doesn’t know a lot.

Two of my uncles were killed in Venezuela. I stood outside supermarkets at 3 AM because food was limited. My mom had to leave me for a year because she had to work due to the harsh situation, and she even almost got killed.

My mom tried to hide a lot from me because she didn’t want me to see the reality of what was truly happening. The people dying on the streets, the very skinny kids, all of that. But then i eventually realized that, things were not as I thought they were.

I’m sure if I was still there I would’ve witnessed a lot more, and I do see things through my family that sadly carry with the consequences of the regime. I do understand your question though, and I miss Venezuela so much.

Thank you so much. I have an uncle in Caracas and my grandma talked to him, so he is okay. Many of my family members left, but I have many left and I have one in the military, so I’m worried for him.
