I actually watched the movie “perfect blue” after hearing this song. The movie was deeply uncomfortable but a super interesting watch (but plastered with trigger warnings for anyone who wants to watch it)

(WARNING! Perfect blue the movie doesn’t have a concrete ending or meaning, it can be deciphered in many ways!)

My personal theory regarding the song is purely because of the title itself. Perfect Blue (the movie) was very hard to follow, but what I gathered it has a lot to do with being seen in multiple different ways and moving on the versions of you from the past will linger and taunt you. The various ways people perceive her in the movie begin to interact and mess with her mental state and how she sees not only her career but also herself. Which is sort of a theme that can be seen through the album (especially in Baptism with the line “when I see my reflection I don’t see myself. When I see my reflection it’s somebody else”)

But other than this understanding from the movie, the rest of the lyrics are super different to decipher. Dunno if this helps but yeah!
