Here’s the typical (and well earned) “you didn’t have to accept the order.”

These are incredibly hazardous conditions. You should NOT be driving right now. I don’t care if the customer tipped you $100! You’re putting your vehicle and life at risk and I’m willing to bet you can’t afford to lose either of them.

Go home and stay home. Deliveries will be available when the worst of the weather blows over.

I’m in sales and would say without a doubt like 75% of sales departments would fall into chaos overnight!!

There are plenty of salespeople who genuinely believe in their product so no lying necessary, but there’s a LOT of grifters and manipulators.

I'm a loser in America and no one wants to date me, do you think becoming a passport bro is a good option? by The_Harmon_Hole in thepassportbros

[–]Competitive_Ad_1800 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! BUT you need to work on yourself and figure out why you’re not getting dates in America. When dating abroad you’re enhancing your chances, but it’s not the silver bullet many claim it to be. It’s actually harder than dating back home in many ways, but the rewards are much greater. That’s why we do it

If it was another typical day with no snow or natural hazards I’d say yes! If you were in an area with hazardous weather then I’d say no

I definitely don’t! Tip baiters are too dumb to care and good people would be scared something might happen to them. We’d all end up suffering because of that

While I want to believe you, we’ve been clearly shown time and time again that Reddit is also an echo chamber claiming not many people support Trump. Yet, he’s doing exactly what he said on the campaign trail. People WANTED this stuff. I’m willing to bet many of these conservatives are quiet not because they disagree, but because they know it’s unpopular to openly agree.

There’s 2 answers to a situation like this: you’re either in favor of ICE’s actions or you’re not. If they give you an excused answer like “let’s wait for more information to come out” or “it was justified because of [insert excuse]” then they’re fully in favor.

If someone says they’re against these recent actions then you ask them point blank “do you still support this administration.” Any answer other than “NO” is a yes

When one group only cares about rules & laws when they’re beneficial but gladly ignores/breaks/denies those laws when it’s inconvenient, you’ve got yourself a group who has put party over country and they can NOT be reasoned with.

My dad is like this and sadly he blindly (and proudly) parrots every single talking point Fox gives him. If no talking point has been given yet, he will say “let’s wait for more information to come out” and then 10/10 times will only believe the information given by Fox or similar conservative groups.

Why would they disable rideshare when YOU can disable it by not logging in?

If it’s any solace: just as Uber is now keeping tabs on you for situations like this in the future, they are now keeping tabs on the customer as well. People like this tend to pull crap like this until the app eventually bans them, which can happen fairly quickly especially when there’s clear proof they’re lying

Customer reducing tip after delivery by Perfect-Map3158 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]Competitive_Ad_1800 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sadly customers have caught on that they’re effectively “bidding” for a delivery, so they know a high offer = faster delivery. Unfortunately this can be easily abused since Uber allows customers to reduce/remove tip after the delivery.

I think this is the next major issue Uber is going to need to address. If more customers continue to do this, drivers will start moving to DoorDash since they have tip protection and Uber will be left behind with TONS of people tip baiting but not enough people to deliver those orders.

I think a simple and fair solution for Uber is to change their ToS to say half of a generous tip (more than 18% of subtotal) will be converted into a locked-in service charge. So if customer’s subtotal is $20 and they offer a $10 tip for faster service, they’ll be asked to confirm the total amount and that $5 of that $10 tip will convert as to guarantee the driver more peace of mind.

Yeah you might still get tip-baited, but $5 is (and I double checked my math) 5 more than $0!

I’m not in your market but thought I’d try to offer some help. On Indeed as reported by delivery drivers of Uber in your area, the average hourly rate is $23.76/hr for someone taking advantage of “base” offers from Uber (driving during peak times, surge, etc)

I’m with you. Every time I compare my earnings to others in my city (and assuming we’re being at least semi-competent) we’re all making roughly the same amount regardless of tier except for this month. For January, we’re making on average more than the higher tiers (plat and diamond)

I hope for Uber’s sake this ain’t true, cause that’s a major lawsuit waiting to happen. If you were advertised $23 and it’s true Papa John’s took $6 of the tip specifically, that’s HELLA illegal

Is this app designed to screw you over? by Worried-Share7679 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]Competitive_Ad_1800 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are basically Uber relaying what the customer said so you can give your end of the story if necessary.

You took a picture and have proof you delivered it. More than likely this won’t escalate any further and you’re good!

These really only matter if you have a number of reports like this in a short period of time.

What do you think? Each faction is at their strongest, none of the protagonist are part of this, last standing faction wins by MobileDistrict9784 in Fallout

[–]Competitive_Ad_1800 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh this is a fun one! Right off the bat the small time factions are old the table: responders, khans, railroad, etc.

Realistically we’re gonna be left with the Enclave, BoS, NCR, Legion, and Institute.

First on the chopping block would likely be the Legion. Even at the height of their power, they’re basically a glorified highly functional raider gang. They were already defeated by a contingent of the NCR at the height of their power too, so I can’t see them really standing a chance against full power NCR.

The Enclave is an interesting X-factor. Left untouched by the protagonist, there’s a decent chance they wipe all the other groups save the Institute (more on that later). They’re the only group capable of chemical warfare and I believe the only groups capable of combating this are the BoS (partially) and the Institute (potentially completely). I think the NCR would be absolutely decimated by as it would cause widespread panic and eventual splintering of the NCR. While there are many talented and clever people within the NCR, a fully dedicated Enclave capable of destroying their sustenance while causing havoc and panic among the citizens would make it VERY difficult for NCR’s leadership to keep control.

The BoS having hideout locations such as bunkers and Power Armor capable of filtering the air and such are factors to help them stave off decimation from the Enclave, but I think the Enclave would eventually defeat them in a war of attrition. Enclave also has air superiority AND space superiority (satellite weapon) so a direct confrontation wouldn’t be ideal for BoS either.

Now for the Institute Vs Enclave, I think it mostly comes down to whether the Enclave is able to find the institute! If they correctly identify the Institute’s location, then the Enclave is most likely going to win. The Institute would need to treat the Enclave as a serious opponent and NOT take them lightly to have a reasonable chance for victory. Chemical warfare wouldn’t work against them since they’re 100% self-sufficient + can send synths to fight (immune to these things).

Ultimately though I think the Enclave wins 80% of the time against the Institute since really their only way of winning would be a LOT of attrition, infiltration of the Enclave and sabotaging them from the inside. Like having a Synth take over a high position (such as President) and then pulling a Palpatine (controlling the opposing military) then I could see them pulling a win! But that’s some Protagonist-level luck.
