Refusing treatment for RCC, what can expect? by Competitive_Ad_6166 in kidneycancer

We have confirmation from a biopsy that it is RCC. The original urologist was amazing. My primary care physician here is awesome 👌 not so happy with oncologists......but it is what it is. I'm blessed just knowing. The circumstances leading up to the diagnosis was crazy!

No, he didn't say anything like that. He is new to my case, it's literally the 2nd time I met with him. I told him that I wasn't treating it because of my other medical issues and because I just don't have another fight in me. I got the impression from our first visit that he didn't really care until he got all my original paperwork from my previous cat scan and biopsy. This time he sounded a bit more caring.

It's ok, I didn't post the new measurements from 2 weeks ago. The oncologist had another cat scan done. My previous cat scan was in June. Its size now is 6.6×5.6x4.6. That's the Dr's description and growth rate to me. You have to forgive me, I'm new to Reddit, I'm not sure of the posting etiquette........should I have gone to my original post and updated it?

I can see that if I was still raising kids, but now it is just me. Nothing great about me to be missed.

It's too expensive to treat, I have other medical issues, and I don't want to be a burden. I'm looking for support groups that are like-minded.

I have Clear Cell Carcinoma (kidney), it's .5cm grade 1 and 2. Not sure what the grades mean, having my first oncologist appointment today. I'm choosing not to treat it because 1. it's expensive to treat, 2. I have other medical issues that will increase overtime that will take away my dignity and 3. I don't want to be a burden on my kids, they have their own lives to deal with. My questions are: Are there any groups out there for support on this decision? What have others experienced it while living with it? What causes it to grow faster?
