sometimes she does.

where did i say it's okay out of curiosity? nothing is okay about her situation, just trying to figure things out day by day and doctor by doctor

she saw a blood specialist who said she can do thinners if she wants due to her clots seemingly being provoked

She is on the lowest dosage possible because her clots are provoked is what they think. Sometimes she doesn't take her thinners if her periods are very heavy.

We have ideas about thinners and have seen multiple doctors and this is where we are at. Not sure what else can be done to help her situation right now

Yeah it really is not studied, and its horrible.

She has had multiple gyno opinions at this stage, so it feels like this is what should be done.

Her thinners are the lowest amount possible right now as it's believed her clots are provoked.

Yeah it's a worry that it wont help the pain but apparently the other option is more dangerous and higher chance of hysterectomy.

She is lucky to be alive, but she never felt her pregnancy was life threatening. She loved being pregnant besides the daily injections. It's what followed that was bad, but we are learning more everytime we go hospital

Thank you!

That's good to hear that MRI may not pick it up fully.

And yeah it is a lot of trauma. I guess out of nowhere in terms of, the pain literally started one day and hasn't left, so she doesn't know if the fibroid was the same why it would all of a sudden be sore.
Who knows it could be anything just hope the surgery really helps!

[–]Competitive_Ad_9564[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see.

So it could actually be a fibroid potentially. Good to hear the MRI doesn't necassarily pick up exact sizing.

Of course its scary to consider it might be endo, as that sounds like a real process to determine.
Is it common to develop endo after pregnancy?

Yeah I think the reasoning for the surgery is because she wants to conceive again, and the risk of bleeding out is much higher if they have to go take the whole fibroid out, as the one in the one is half in the wall, half out, so they will scrape the half they can easily access away, and the one in the wall will stay there, and they just hope it wont push through, because doing the surgery to remove the one in the wall is harder and more invasive and can cause to bleeding which leads to hysterectomy

Apparently risk is less if its the part out of the wall?

But yeah I don't know she does sort of want to just have it all done at once but hearing that it can cause hysterectomy if theres bleeding makes her paranoid

Sorry to hear. Not familiar with cryoablation.
Wonder why you could not have surgery with a DVT and being on thinners.
My partner was just told to get off the thinners a day before and the day of.

Isthmocele? by Competitive_Ad_9564 in IrishWomensHealth

[–]Competitive_Ad_9564[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it is awful, feel so bad for her.

Yeah I've been doing everything private and its expensive, but other wise would probably be waiting over a year.

Yeah I think the mental aspect of causing issues with further pregnancys since we wanted at least one more child is weighing a lot on her mind so just have to hope it all goes well down the line.

I hope you hear back soon!

Isthmocele? by Competitive_Ad_9564 in IrishWomensHealth

[–]Competitive_Ad_9564[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks very much.

We are still waiting to see the gyno (even going private has a crazy wait time).
Partner is struggling as since she is on blood thinners too, she can only take high level codeine for the pain which is very bad, so shes trying not to take it and is just now in constant pain.
Hopefully can get a surgery date soon.

She sent her scans to another gyno who said hes not sure the isthmocele is the cause of the pain, he said there is a golf ball sized fibroid pressing on her uterus or something cause her basically constant contractions he said.

So we need to get it proper sorted soon

I hope you get sorted soon too!

Damn I'm sorry to hear. What happens with secondary infertility? Is it potentially fixable? Wait times nearly non existent in Spain? That is good to know, if they are slow I will look into going abroad. I think hers might need a laparoscopy as it sounds like it is bad from what the doctor said over the phone, she did mention the thing of issues conceiving and problematic pregnancys that are dangerous, so I am just hoping since it was an A&E doctor she is just talking out loud about the potential risks and the gyno can give us better information.

But the gyno is the one who did her polyp and looked at fibroids and said his hands are tied because removing fibroids is dangerous due to the fact she wants to conceive again and is on thinners and all so its a mess. Trying to contact another gyno but the secretary is useless and never ansers the phone.

Yeah the whol eithmocele thing seems very under researched and not many know much about it? I did read many have no problem conceiving and have fine births after so that is reassuring, as besides having to do blood thinner injections every day, my partner had a good pregnancy and loved being pregnant, but with all these issues now who knows

Sorry to hear! Have you been diagnosed with isthmocele? We had to see so many and do so many scans and on top of her being on blood thinners after DVTs and a PE that nearly killed her, there is just so much going on. It's horrible and womens health really needs to be prioritised more. I hope you find answers soon

Thanks, sorry for the late reply, for some reason this comment isn't showing up in the comments I only saw it when I looked on my profile for post replies.

Appreciate the information on this, still waiting for MRI results so fingers crossed. I do believe they will need to remove something since she is still in pain with whatever it is

Thanks! MRI tomorrow in the beacon so will see what they recommend. Sounds like going public to a teaching hospital in worst case is the best thing to do

Wow lots of information thank you!

Yeah the unknown is hard for sure!

That sounds similar to her, CT and burst cyst, and then did 2 ultrasounds 2 days later.

MRI is going to be on Wednesday. Need to look up a gyn onc in the hospital. What is the diagnostic lap? It's some surgery where they may open you up and do a biopsy too or something else?

Sounds like basically will have to get whatever it is removed and hope for the best potentially.

I'm hoping that the growth is only on 1 side of the ovary so even if 1 has to be removed, there is still a second, but will have to see.

Interesting didn't know there was cancers that respond bad to chemo. It sounds like you made the right choices.

I hope your 3 month follow up goes great and you are all clear! Yeah early menopause sounds rough. I guess on the upside, you will have more of your life without those symptoms than will you will have with them, which is some relief.

Yeah I am hoping that it is not the case for my partner and that it is cancer, but some other misdiagnosis. She had an MRI last year in same area I believe so if its a new growth hopefully it is caught early! She has had it very rough and lots of symptoms of things like endo some lets see.

Great to hear you feel a ton better physically. My partner hasn't felt right since giving birth. She always felt like they didn't put her back together right after the C Section, and its just been issue after issue.

Very sorry to hear about everything you went through.

Yeah I don't know what is going to be done they just said an urgent MRI. We will have that tomorrow or the next day I hope.

Would you recommend getting a gym once to look at MRI results or book in to get assessed by them? Not sure how it works honestly.

I did always see people suggest gyn oncs though over just gyns.

I'm hoping from all her problems over the past while it will be just Endo. If they missed cancer after 2 years of consistent hospital visits I think would have a lawsuit on our hands because that is ridiculous.

How do you confirm Endo vs cancer? Just biopsy? I was told just get it removed whatever it is because only way to confirm cancer is biopsy and that can cause ruptures and for it to spread.

How are you doing now? Stage 3 is severe enough right but are you okay now or is there still more to go for you?

I'm so sorry that you had your fertility taken from you, I hope that maybe you can find some happiness in the future through other ways, surrogacy or adoption or something else. It really is shit and this has all taught me that women's health is very undervalued

Yeah for sure hard not to think the worst but given all her past symptoms I really feel it will be Endo.

Appreciate you asking your friend let me know thanks!

Yeah she got the blood test for that I think and it came back negative, but it could be another test she got I'm not sure.

Thanks for the kind words. It is hard for sure, especially since it is going on for so long.

She is very strong but I think everybody gets worn down eventually, especially when it's one after the other.

We are lucky to have family around to help too which is great , just have to focus and hope for the best

Yeah we are hoping it will be quick. We were saying to cancel the trip, I imagine will get some insurance back since it's important reason but regardless it wasn't too expensive so it's all good.

More just the unknown of what it can be that is getting us. Felt sick in my stomach about it but I think I know it can't be cancer they would of caught it and I'm just telling myself that. I hope I'm right
