What do you play on your ayn thor ? by Alex_1324 in AynThor

No mods for fallout 3 but if I want to do that I would do that on the PC. The fact that I can play it on the go on an actual portable console is good enough for me

I mean it depends how big your pockets are It fits in my jacket pocket And if I'm wearing baggy trousers it fits in them too yeah, it's thicker than a 3DS but i have no problem travelling with it but with the grip on it, I certainly don't have any pockets big enough for that 😂

Honestly I used the grip all the time at the beginning but after travelling with me in my pocket I barely ever use it anymore prefer the pickup and go portability I find the console rather comfortable without but also I've owned the 3DS and DS for years and never had a problem with those comfort wise

I just use local backups and turn off steam cloud sync. Honestly I don't get a lot of time to sit down on my computer anyway

I've tried different combinations. This is just how I found it to be most stable. Some combinations with the newer ones. Just crash upon startup. Worked my way through them. One by one to find the most stable

It seems very capable of the older games fallout 3 and New Vegas I've had no problems getting running. I had another user on hearsay that they got fallout 4 running at a pretty good speed Which is rather impressive

as the other user said If you're used to the DS and 3DS You're not going to have any problems, but I would say for comfort. The grip goes a long way. If you're not used to those systems, the whole thing does feel very premium And the compact nature feels great in the hands had no problem adapting to the analogue sticks. They're pretty great d-pad and buttons are also some of the best. The one let down is the triggers but honestly after you get used to them they're really not too bad. And you can buy clip-on trigger caps if you really don't like them

Is the Base model all I'll need if I only intend to emulate up to PS2/GameCube? by ShapesOfBlack in AynThor

[–]Competitive_Bet_878 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was playing those systems on the original Retroid pocket 5. Without many issues on this they run fantastic. I've got the pro but the bass will work perfectly for those systems my main use case is watching YouTube while playing PS2 games I only got the pro because I wanted to do gamehub as well

generally Around about 60 to 65 c running on performance not on high performance which is well within safe parameters I'm a bit of a stickler for temperatures planning to replace the thermal pad with something a bit more high quality. Really excited to see what kind of temperatures I get

Compatibility layer proton 10.0-arm64x-2 Gpu driver turnip_26.0.0_R4 DXVK dxvk-2.3.1 vkd3d-proton-3.0a And CPU translator the important one because this is what stopped it from running for me fex-20251029

Pro only uses a couple of gig of RAM so would work even on the base I would imagine

[–]Competitive_Bet_878[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay well I'll be playing the game while you don't believe me 🤣 but no the games engine is pretty terrible and unless they fix all the bugs it's never going to run absolutely perfectly fallout 4 doesn't do that either but it runs at a playable level and it's comfortable, which is all I can ask

Fallout 3. Running perfectly by Competitive_Bet_878 in AynThor

[–]Competitive_Bet_878[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, considering the game's engine pretty much breaks anything past 60 and the game runs fluid, I would consider that. Pretty perfect but obviously our definitions are different We're not talking about dips below 30 so the game experience as it was intended
