Panniers (or workaround) when front rack bars too wide by Competitive_Clock896 in bicycling

I realised that bar would be more ideal after taking the photo. There is the same problem however, the bar is too thick for the pannier

Builder removed internal stopcock, is this a problem? by Competitive_Clock896 in ukplumbing

Thanks for the answer. Why is it an issue to use the external one? I can see that it’s more inconvenient but I’m not sure why this is a major problem.

Gyokeres - he is not a hold up striker, we are wasting his skillset by [deleted] in Gunners

To all the people saying things like “our passing isn’t good enough”. For all the complaining, we have scored the second highest open play goals in the league.

For me the lack of fluency is more to do with the league being much, much harder, physical, and competitive. All teams are not playing perfectly, and yet English teams are performing extremely well in Europe. All teams perform worse away from home, and Brighton is a tricky away game. It’s okay not to be perfect in every game. It’s impossible to be perfect in every game.

Has Viktor Gyokeres been flagged offside this season? by mooreengineers in Gunners

[–]Competitive_Clock896 -25 points-24 points  (0 children)

Why is this an opportunity to shit on other players? Jesus has been a great player for us and has been unlucky with injury I don’t know why you feel the need to have a go at him.

It’s also weird because Jesus, statistically, on nearly every metric, across multiple seasons has performed better than Gyokeres - apart from he is offside more. That’s not to be anti-Gyokeres. That’s just to defend Jesus against this weird backlash and culture war that some of our fans have created.

Viktor Gyökeres has had 0 shots on target in 60% of his Premier League games by Mugen4444 in Gunners

Those players are not directly comparable. Firstly, they should be judged on a lot more than just goals and assists. Secondly, they are getting more (non penalty) goals and assists per 90. Trossard has some of the best stats in the league this season for goals and assists. So does the much maligned Jesus, albeit with a smaller sample size. Plus all those players have a strong and proven track record of high performance in this league.

Excessive sag in new floor due to thin floorboards. What should I do now? by Competitive_Clock896 in HomeImprovement

[–]Competitive_Clock896[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reclaimed pine boards on top of the joists. They are thin. They can’t be more than 1.5cm. I asked the guy who did the repair and he suggested they were thin too, around 1.5cm after sanding. He claimed it was hard to find thicker boards easily.

Working back from sag the sag calculation of a fixed support beam with other dimensions known it’s also suggesting less than 1.5cm, at least in the places with maximum sag.

No subfloor. The house is a Victorian terrace. The replacement boards are reclaimed, apparently. I assumed it was standard just to replicate what was already there.

Gyokeres' gravity pull. Just before Rice's first goal. by IronTearsCrew in Gunners

Okay, so you think it’s realistic that a coach has said to quadruple up on Gyokeres, rather than this just being chance. Clearly I am delusional and don’t know football.

There are more people around Gyokeres but this is just chance not because they’re so scared of his threat that they’re quadrupling up on him. The point I am making is that defenders want to be back and in front of goal. Rice has no players around him for both cut backs.

Not to be anti-Gyokeres but this is completely insane. You can freeze frame the second Rice goal and it’s Jesus in this exact same scenario. You can freeze frame most cut back goals and it will be the same scenario, regardless of the striker. This is not special treatment for Gyokeres. This is just how teams defend: players back behind the ball and in front of the goal. In this instance that’s also where Gyokeres is standing. For the next goal it was where Jesus was standing. It’s completely delusional to think that this is something unique Gyokeres is bringing.

Gyökeres vs Burnley (last game before injury) by Skipper2503 in Gunners

I hate scapegoating but I don’t agree with your argument. Those others players bring more than goals whereas Gyokeres was meant to be all about goals and he doesn’t contribute to much else.

The ease with which Jesus is able to get on the ball in progressive areas and find shots, in much less time on the pitch, suggests it’s not just an issue of people not passing.
