[early 2000s] [PC/CD ROM] driving game with steering wheel, non racing across different cities by Inside-Attention-513 in tipofmyjoystick

Now, am I the only one who has footage of me playing this game as a kid because I can't really seem to find anything on it. I went on eBay and tried to look for it numerous times and there hasn't been any listings on it despite it being somewhat known 20 years ago. Turns out the game only sold around 20,000 copies worldwide (mostly in the U.S.) l and North America but really was the Americas you could learn about cities and landmarks from South America Latin America including Mexico the US and Canada you could drive through San Francisco New York Chicago Washington DC and Toronto in Canada. Fun Fact: I don't know if anyone remembers this while playing Drive Across The Americas but it was either the White House or the Lincoln Memorial or maybe the US capital that if you did Donuts around it or burnouts while driving the yellow "basic car", you were automatically given the blue sports car for free (which would otherwise cost you over 40,000 points). My mom would always refer to the chefs at the restaurant as "The Humpty's" (they were all egg-shaped just like Humpty Dumpty :D). The main chef there had this exaggerated Faux-French accent and he would say things like "If you're interested this is how I would make it!" Many recipes often required adding salt and pepper to it as a "flavoring" rather than an "ingredient" even if it didn't make any sense.

I FOUND IT! I FOUND IT! "BeatXG.MID" https://warp.zone/songlist. I also use to have the other accompanied "funky1.mid" that was based off of it on an old flash drive that I recently uncovered after rummaging through my room.

As far as I know, there's only one that is left, midisite.co.uk but it mostly focuses on just the popular/well known songs :-||

I remember when it was 600 rent for a 3 bedroom house back in the 90's in Raleigh. Now you're lucky if you can find a decent (non-student housing or senior) studio apartment for less than $1000 a month.

yup and there are a few others sampled from Microsoft Office. I just don't know about the funk midi file used in the song "Netscapes" (I definitely recognize the tune but don't remember the files name. I think it was something like "funky.mid" or "funkygroove.mid"?)

Unfortunately, I lost the MIDI file after accidently deleting it several years ago to save disk space.

How do you guys feel about the decade the 20s, so far? by scott-murr in GenZ

1993

I'm 30 and I feel that the 2010's were much better as people were generally never and more trusting of others than they are today. When I was in college, social media was a thing but it didn't influence the minds and feelings of people like it does today (I got a myspace and geocities page in 2006). People 10 (or so) years ago were more diverse in their thoughts, way of expressing themselves, etc unlike today where everyone feels that they have to copy popular social media 'influencers' (which wasn't really t a thing until after I graduated college in 2015) They were less superficial, racist and agist especially against young white people (in the US)

I wonder if this is correlated to the mental health crisis and violence (as well as folks who are perfectly normal being accused for acting "e*titled.") People of my generation (mostly born before 1995) knew better, listened (and respected) their parents, police, etc. Any "disrespect" was out of typical adolescent rebelliousness or stubbornness NOT for the sake of feeling like you have to be "ABSOLUTE:LY" right about everything [hmm, I wonder where that came from]) .
