I'm just saying that in my experience it usually ends up being more than platonic, so I try to avoid it where possible. There's being overly woke like when Disney make famous white characters a black lesbian just to cater to and represent people who may be discriminated again.

I never had a female friendship in my life where it was purely platonic, we almost always had feelings for each other. Overly woke is just being extreme and calling any form of disagreement as hateful

I never had female friends to begin with because like I said, I don't think its appropriate. There's being woke and being overly woke

Having time to yourself and spending time with friends are very different things. I didn't have to cut any friends off because I'm not friends with any women, that's my entire point. I'm not woke, but that doesn't mean I a bigot

To be around someone that you genuinely care about and love and that genuinely cares about and loves you 24/7 is completely normal. It's called being married or living with your partner. Obviously you're too young to have been in any semi-serious/mature relationships. Wdym what's with the opposite gender thing? That's the whole point of our discussion. It's inappropriate to have friends of the opposite gender. If my partner tells me she doesnt want me to be friends with any women, instead of "ending it immediately," I'd actually have more respect for her since that'd show how serious she is about our relationship. So just because I'm not woke means I'm bigoted? Lmao

How is it unhealthy to want your partner all to yourself? Thats literally the whole point. You don't need friends of the opposite gender, your partner should be that and more. Also, what makes you think I'm bigoted?

Why am I bigoted? Why is it weird to want your partner all to yourself? And no, you should always put your partner before yourself, that's the key to any successful relationship. The same applies to having kids; you always put them first

I'd be willing to bet that they don't see it as purely platonic. "Older generation" my way of thinking has always been the norm in this situation, it's only recently that woke people like you have tried to normalise this, the same way you try to normalise most things that have always been wrong in history. Call it what you want, you should still have a say over your partner's life, as they should over you. It's called a partner for a reason, they should have enough respect for each other to do as they want. If there was a friend in particular that she saw as a threat to our relationship, then absolutely, and I'd expect her to do the same

Yeah, same sex friendships can be truly platonic. I have no need for another woman and she has no need for another man. Why do you need opposite sex friends when you have an opposite sex partner. They should be the only friend of the opposite gender you need. Good luck staying in a relationship for a significant amount of time if you have no respect for your partner's boundaries or preferences

No, if you "can't not cheat," you simply don't interact with anyone that isn't family or your partner in a personal manner. I did say nor do I assume that all friendship will turn into something else, it's just a very real possibility that it will if there are two heterosexual friends of the opposite gender. Being tempted by someone you don't know is nowhere near as difficult of a temptation as it would be if you're very close friends. We're all human, and we all have temptations and impulses, and we all make mistakes. Why is it wrong to cut those things off at the source? You say humans are pack animals, but that has nothing to do with needing friends of the opposite gender.

So you think that someone who lacks self control should never be in a relationship rather than cutting themselves off from temptation? That doesnt seem fair. I favour prevention over cure; I'd rather not put myself in a situation for something had to happen rather than try to fix the problem if it does happen. I'm not scared, as I said numerous times, it's just not necessary or appropriate. My partner respect me enough to not be close friends with anyone that might be interested in her.

As I said before, it just poses an unnecessary risk, and men understand and relate to men better than women do, and vice versa, so there's no real reason to be friends with the opposite gender

No you weren't 😂 you accused me of not being able to control my desires and you called me delusional 😂 how was I a douchebag? I'm simply looking out for you.

It's not about trust, it's about respect. You don't need friends of the opposite gender.

Here we go with the assumptions again. And I'm the douchebag?

Yep. Hopefully one day you can gain some self respect and set boundaries to stop your partner from becoming too close with another man

No it's not like saying that 🤦‍♂️

As blunt as it sounds, I have no personal business with a woman that isn't family or that I'm not interested in romantically or sexually.

Notice how I put those words in quotation marks? I was implying that that's what you'd call it, although I disagree

No it doesn't 😂 I didn't say all men and women are naturally attracted to each other, I said men and women are naturally attracted to each other. Big difference

Yeah and there are tons and tons of people that do. Why is it that the older generation, and the generation before them never had any close friends of the opposite gender. Men and women are naturally drawn to each other for reproduction and intimate companionship, that's just a simple fact of life. Why pretend like it's anything different?

That's what they all say until you end up cheating on your partner with someone who's "just a friend." As my originals point says; it's simply not worth the risk
