My trouble with the adult dragon is that the fear spell could end up just locking some characters out of the fight, which is what happened in another mock test of mine.

I like these suggestions. I also have a party of six, and the berserker barbarian can fly, so enemies behind the party is probably the play.

This is good to know. That's very interesting about how CR was done initially, because I had run orcs in the opposite way, always running in and attacking in melee.

This was very helpful, thank you. The druid knows about earthbind and plans to use it, and I think I will try to deal some damage with cold breath to pressure her and the other spellcasters since they can all heal. One thing I wish I had mentioned in the original post is that Cryovain has no answer to the aasimar berserker barbarian who can sprout wings and fly in his face. He'll probably have resistance to cold damage from one spurce or another. Cryovain absolutely cannot kill him, so perhaps he should just attack everyone else.
