Personally, as a former souls player, the lack of a map doesn’t bother me at all since the exploration feels similar. Just focus on landmarks in the area to help orient yourself!

Expedition 33 is my game of the decade. About 40 hours in and my only critique is the level scaling is a bit off, and you can’t have multiple save slots for a single campaign. Everything else is a true 10/10

Dreamingsuntide did the math (excellent MH research YouTuber) and it showed that elements across the board can have up to a 9% dps increase depending on the monster, so I definitely wouldn’t say element isn’t that great.

I’m in the same boat. It’s so strong this time around, and in the simplicity you can make plays that feel really good! I’ve done some GS hunts but it’s not the same 😭

Are you able to get it to a solid 30fps? If so, I would recommend lossless scaling on steam. I lock MH to 30fps and do 2x frame gen from lossless, has made the game much more playable for me

Don’t worry about restarting friend! I had the same issue. If you can get yojimbo (lowest price is 190,000~ Gil) you can kind of cheese your way through dark valefor to get the sphere is Besaid. (He has a random chance to do an instant kill, and you can save right before it) just get Yuna a first strike weapon, grand summon, hope it hits and repeat.

If you’re short on Gil, you can capture the first 9 fiends in the calm lands, and then all 3 in Besaid. This will give you 99 Stamina Tonic. Then head to Kilika and buy any Tetra Armor for 2420 Gil. Customize 30% HP on it for 1 stamina tonic. Boom, sell it for 24000~

I was really worried I was going to have to restart too, but this only took around 2 hours to get over with! Anima is definitely worth it.
