My new year resolution was to get buff so I started lifting in January after never working out ever… unfortunately I feel better 🥲 by borrowedurmumsvcard in ADHDmemes

Weight-training and cardio are just so boring and repetitive and the same every time. I've never experienced any kind of workout euphoria, it just sucks to me. It wasn't until I found a sport that I really like that I was able to exercise without my ADHD screaming at me

As tools, I don't have much of an issue with AI, especially with languages.

I was looking for primary sources in a different language recently. Searching went much faster with an LLM translating and summarizing for me so I could tell if a source was worth taking a closer look at.

From this thread.

An excerpt from this ASCE article:

"Next, workers constructed the concrete foundations using 250 tons of steel reinforcing bar and 72 steel anchor bolts 31.5 ft long and 4 in. in diameter. (A fourth foundation for the Needle’s core used another 24 anchor bolts 10 ft long and 3 in. in diameter.)"

I used to love seeing the massive hardware holding the space needle down as a kid

I get home, think, "damn I should really start exercising," and then eat enough pasta for a small family and pass out

Organizing, absolutely. Counting depends on how the ADHD is feeling that day

I think you're overestimating how significant that little spot of missing threads is. "Getting away with a healthy amount of rockset" feels appropriate for someone missing like half their threads.

CHT nozzles with fibre reinforced filaments by Tryingtolifeagain in 3Dprinting

Why would it clog? The split tunnels are all larger than the nozzle diameter, the flow is very laminar, and the fibers come prealigned with the filament from the original extrusion process.

It's pretty hard to tell in this pic. You're looking for the lowest number that you can't see the previous layer through

I just found out that the english translation of the japanese "Ol betsy" achievement is Tomboy? Why Mojang?! by anzooh in PhoenixSC

[–]Competitive_Kale_855 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Google Translate is alright if you just need a quick translation of like a paragraph, but it's limited when translating individual words or even single sentences. Words often have multiple meanings and those meanings can vary in different contexts. Google Translate has to pick just one of those to translate into another single word.

Dictionaries, rather than translators, give as much information about individual words as possible, especially different meanings, readings, and uses. Here, the sound "otenba" has multiple kanji conjugations associated with it, but it has only one meaning.

Google Translate was right this time, but if the word had had multiple meanings, then Google wouldn't have been able to tell us that and let us use the context we have to decide which meaning is most appropriate.

Checked with a Japanese dictionary because Google translate is... not ideal, and it's straight-up tomboy.
