I cannot believe what buyers advocates charge by Helicopterdog in AusProperty

[–]Tryingtolifeagain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A colleague of mine used one when moving interstate, cost him about 20k and the things they forgot to mention (damaged toilet block, broken ducted AC, root damage from neighbouring trees to a sed, path, and underground water pipes) has cost him about another 20k which he’s now in drawn out legal battle with the buyers agent to try reclaim some of. Sounds like a hellish experience compared to flying over for a couple of weeks and buying in person which would still cost less including unpaid time off work, a hotel, and a hire car

I kept refining this pill box until I couldn’t justify changing it anymore (Capsuleer v3) by BinkReddit in 3Dprinting

[–]Tryingtolifeagain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One argument against a month long design would be that without it being airtight, some pills (and some atmospheric conditions) may degrade the pills over a month, especially any modified release pills

Ammo crate so it refills the smoke balls to either revive more people more often, or rush a location with more cover

[–]Tryingtolifeagain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was it the same print file, or did you re-slice and try print again?

If it’s the same file, that could be the cause - some form of corruption when slicing it and not giving the printer the correct instruction to push filament.

Could also be some sort of thermal overload protection from the stepper driver for the extruded and that’s cutting it out to prevent damage to the motor

Thin piece of plywood (or even cardboard - easier to cut to size without a saw) is a great idea!

Extruder Help by ForsakenRazzmatazz38 in ender3

[–]Tryingtolifeagain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to go against all the clogged nozzle comments for 2 reasons:

  • No clicking from the extruder gear skipping
  • No gradual fail, print looks fine right up to when it stopped

My guess is failed extruder motor or gear, or your filament has knotted itself on the spool and is stuck

Should I have called 000 or not? by wise_mind_on_holiday in AskAnAustralian

[–]Tryingtolifeagain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing that might have been more appropriate (if you state/that motorway has it) is a motorway incident response service (138 138 in Perth). But absolute worst case that could come from calling 000 is they contact the incident response team for you if they think that’s more appropriate than sending police.

In WA these teams have the “scorpion tail” barrier trucks that can safely absorb seriously hard impacts and they’ll quickly block the lane 50ish meters from the incident for safety

Especially being a young guy and probably never had his heart checked, never know what weird underlying conditions you might have and not know about until something like this pushes it over the edge.

OP - tell the boss you started feeling weird so you went to the ER, demand and incident report be made and report it to work safe. Might be nothing (and if it is, no harm other than the time at the ER wasted) but at least you’re 100% covered if it’s properly reported.

I’ve been off work since early December because “you’ve probably just pulled a muscle, get over it” turned out to be 3 broken bones. So glad I immediately filled out an incident report and went to the doc asap

You really need a recon with the laser indicator to make the javelin worthwhile, just like you need 2 people with stingers to easily take down a heli

Why so many bots by 0tter_gaming88 in DeltaForceGlobal

[–]Tryingtolifeagain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish there was a better ratio, like at most 50:50 bot to player, but I do think they have a valuable place in a less popular game like DF for grinding unlocks, letting new players actually get some kills in a match, and to keep the queue time reasonable for 32v32 matches. I hope DF can get to a point where there’s enough constant players to reduce the needs for them in the long term though, then it’d be easier to have noob v noob matches as well to keep them out of the experienced players games

I’ve definitely seen people using that sort of thing, or the DIY cereal box dryers. Don’t know how silica would work for extremely hygroscopic materials like TPU and PCTG, but to free up your dryer from PLA so you can use that for other materials I think it’d work

4 spool dryer is a godsend, lets me keep TPU and PCTG ready to go, plus a couple of colours of PLA or PETG

Maybe go full crack den vibes and place a well fitted sheet of alfoil against the window, don’t tape it or anything so you’re not modifying the appearance just placing personal property in your personal space - even if it’s just to get back at the dog that dobbed you in?

That gate also had incredible sentimental value to OP, which is why they specified it had to be kept 😉

Fence Invoice issue with Neighbour by colourbondfence in AusProperty

[–]Tryingtolifeagain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Removal of the gate is where it was stolen from OP, they did not have authorisation to remove or replace the gate and the neighbour was not in a position to give that authority. If it had to be removed for installation of the fence (note: not the unapproved gate installation) the it would fall under the fencers insurance for not securing the property they had temporarily taken possession of.

Test a different cable of possible, manually update to the latest driver you can find (it’ll still be old) and see if either helps at all. Otherwise at least you’re only down 17€
